I'm going to be really disappointed if this thing doesn't drop by April 6th! Verizon almost always drags their feet on the new hotness (I know its for our own good as they have rigorous testing). They gotta start dropping those DROID bombs on our heads so I can get back to my regular life. This phone has become an obsession!

Only thing that comes to mind (not that it means much from me) was the Blackberry app world. I've got a creeping suspicion it will only be N1 news at CTIA for Verizon. Hopefully I'm wrong.

That'd be kinda killer (at least for those planning on purchasing the Incredible).

Well the real question is how does Verizon compare the Incredible to the Droid. The Droid was their first entry into Android so it got the nines as far as advertising and exclusive press conference launch (exclusive as in it was only for the Droid). Is the Incredible just a step up so Verizon will launch it like they did the Blackberry storm which was via press release? Or is the Incredible their new baby to spoil and we're waiting for invites to media for the Incred's own presser? Which would mean invites being received a week before the presser.

I am still hoping for the 24-48 announcement of the Incredible prior to the Devour release date from VZW. Like they did with the Eris 24 hours prior to the Droid release date.

I'm thinking the later and only for a few reasons. The specs proposed specs of this phone are killer. Verizon would be very foolish not to hype this just like the DROID. This phone, IMHO, is a game changer for Android hardware. So they should promote the crap out of it while it is still ahead of the curve .... which won't be too long.

I am headed to my local verizon store. I am checking to see if the Devour is there on display. I thought it was going on sale today through Verizon but nothing in the online store. I heard official date is the 25th. I know a couple of the workers and I will throw the words incredible and nexus one out there. They have in the past brought out phones to me that they just got in but I have gotten the response from them "Joe you know more about these phones than we do." I will play dumb but at the same time as loaded questions.

The gdgt event is in Austin tonight starting @ 7pm Central. I'm still interested in whether any more whisperings come out following tonight's event. Following HTC on Twitter, they're definitely going to have a presence there.

Wasn't the Devour already released to certain stores. My friend picked up a Devour 2 weeks ago.

The devour sucks ass, i am currently testing it... its slow... the screen sucks.. motoblur (i think) is a gimmic and the camera is complete garbage.

the only thing this is good for is the "tween" market who have to absolutely stay connected to every socal network. and it wont be released in vzw stores till around the 25th and there is no demo setup in the store for people to look at.

Agreed. I've played with the phone a few times and it isn't fast at all. I don't really like Motoblur either. I've been waiting for the Incredible for months now.

Hey guys, just a quick heads up...as you know, sometime real life can get in the way of the fun stuff (Incredible) and that's exactly what's happened to me over the last 48 hours. I should be good to go again by Monday but in case there's any late breaking news/updates/spec's that are worthy of going on the first post please PM me and i'll do my best to update ASAP...as far as i know it's all up to date.

On a side note, when i have some time i'd like to write up a proposal for the "Incredible community" on how to possibly run this sub-thread (HTC Incredible) over the course of it's lifecycle that should provide a much better experience for the end user(s).

I work for a Fortune 1 (yes, not 100, 500, or 1000, but 1) company (no names, but you can probably guess) and I manage a team of developers and am in charge of product introduction and rollout (which means managing expectations, documentation, support, etc...) so i'd like to propose implementing some of those same concepts which work very well to this forum and provide a well organized, planned, and managed "one stop shop" for Incredible owners. I would like buy-in from the community at large and also the Admin's/Mod's as the concept would mean a bit more structure (no restrictions, just to be clear, in case this raises flags for anyone). I think it would be an interesting experiment and in my opinion, and experience, provide a superior experience for the end user. More on this later...but any preliminary feedback is very welcome and appreciated.

I was debating on when to interject a comment along these lines. My question was going to be something like "What will the path of this thread take after the Incredible is released so as to be able to support the MANY new issues, questions, comments and experiences users have with it?"

This post addresses the question quite nicely. Anonimac, although I am not with a Fortune 1 (or 1000) company, I too am an old time developer and manager who has been at it for longer than I care to admit here (was coding since before most people here were born). The need for an organized forum for Incredible owners and prospective owners post-release is a GREAT idea. Please PM me if you'd like to chat about it offline. I can offer some resources.

I'd like to see various individual threads with regards to the many topics here such as battery issues, cables, changing UI, rooting, third party accessories, tips, tricks, tethering, and my personal favorite, application development.

To all the other people who post... WOW, this is a great group of people with an enthusiasm and restraint like none other I've seen on any message boards since before Al Gore invented the internet.

Thanks to all here. It's a great forum.

We all better take a bayer aspirin to be on the safe side lol.

Yeah we better. After all the waiting we've done actually getting something real announced for this phone might just be too much for us all to handle :)

But both HTC and Verizon have booths at CTIA. Honestly, if the specs from this forum are true, I dont think a press conference is needed as word will get around pretty fast.

Thats a good point but wouldn't they want at least some kind of an announcement to draw everyone to the booth to take a look at the phone. I really think there has to be some kind of an announcement. This really looks like the new flagship device like the Droid was and look at what they did with that.

Why does everyone want to forget about the fact that GOOGLE IS SELLING THE DEVICE NOT VERIZON...serenity now serenity now lol...the shipments would go to google not verizon...so if something is going to verizon, I would assume that its the Incredible...just my 0.02 cents

Imagine an Incredible announcement at CTIA and a release one week after...my brain and heart would explode lol...total pandemonium...

Could be! I wish! We already know that it can't be the Nexus as it will be sold online by Google. Unless they are going to be demoing it in store. They may indeed have display units but you actually have to purchase online. I hope they would do more advertising for the Incredible than just throwing it in the store but hey if that means I can get it sooner so be it!

It would be sweet!

So what are you going to do with this phone, aside from making call!? C'mon ppl, give me some techy answers..lol..:D

OK.

1) Develop applications for businesses where they can upload voice annotated videos and pictures to their corporate database from the field.

2) Tethering

3) Use it to update various websites with content from various sources from anywhere in the big red footprint.

4) Push corporate data of different types to their employees' phones (no, not just email but other items like updated sales leads, real time scheduling, etc...

5) Develop other business applications to enable companies to capture data closer to the source (out in the hands of their employees) and achieve faster and more accurate response to their customers (and billing).

Granted, some of the other phones can do this now but the Incredible has some nice specs all around which makes the image/video and speed of the apps in the realm of VERY usable and cost effective.

well, it's a stretch but the most interesting sentence in that article is " If HTC is shipping anything to Verizon, it’s most likely the HTC-branded Incredible (with HTC Sense UI)"

so if the story is accurate, and HTC is shipping SOMETHING and if it's to VERIZON (and not google), then maybe we have good news.

I had seen the original article but not this one. It makes sense. I mean, I won't even try to count the number of pages used up in this thread on N1 in store speculation. By now I think most of us can consider the N1 an online only item. In my eyes, this news is huge. I just wish someone could attest to the credibility of the original article.

Perhaps those who thought a simultaneous N1/Incredible launch would happen might be right? :D

You just reminded me of one of the most awesome things I'm going to do with my Incredible.....I'm going to watch NFL football games. That deal was great news and I can't wait to see how it works.

I hate all of you. I was doing good in not thinking about getting an Incredible anytime soon but now you are putting it back in my head. I was in a good place and now I am agitated and sweaty again. Jerks :D

Edit: Is it bad that I get to my local Verizon Wireless store 1 hour before they open and stop by 1 hour after they close to see if they are putting out the Incredible?
