Root [Rom][5-3-12]Broken Out Rom 2.0

I don't get why some have these problems either. I originally rooted with zergrush manual procedures and I had intermittent reboots without warning. I've since rerooted with the files at the begining of this tread and installed the Brokeout 1.2 ROM and I get none of the reboots or bootloop problems. I've run this ROM since 4/5/12 and its perfectly stable so far. The only issue I had with the unrooting was that superuser was still in the phone which I manually uninstalled before rooting and installing v1.2 ROM. I'll try V2.0 to get the extra storage space soon.

it most likely has to do with not clearing the options in boot menu correctly

Thanks for 2.0!! I was on 1.2, just did a backup in CWM, and then went into the update, and it works fine. (So far, I just did it an hour ago).

Thanks so much for supporting this phone!

One thing I noticed is that at the unlock screen, pressing menu unlocks the phone. Not sure if that is a feature, but could see a lot of pocket-woopses going down with that.

I ran into an issue today..I've been using this ROM since it's first release without major problems. Today I updated to 2.0. I did a complete reset and cleared the cache. The ROM installed without any issues. However, a few hours later it stopped charging. When plugged to a charger the lock screen says charging, but the charging animation does not display in the notification area and the battery continues to drain. My phone is now completely dead and I am unable to charge it enough to power on and switch back to a previous release. Does anyone have any suggestions?

EDIT: I left the battery out for about an hour and plugged it back in. It's charging normally now. Not sure what was going on earlier. Has anyone else had any charging issues lately?

Do you have a different battery to try-just to time out a bad battery:confused:

Okay, well I rooted my Pantech Breakout about 2 months ago and everything was fine. I installed a rom about a week ago. I re-installed today and got an error while I was in recovery and shut off my phone. Turned it back on and it wouldn't work. I tried to re-installed the rom again and it installed fine, but phone still doesn't turn on.

PLEASE HELP

Thanks for your work! Great little ROM I flashed yesterday, great speed yet very stable and debloated. It seems the Pantech breakout really isn't the popular of a phone as compared to a driod X or other more popular phones so its pretty cool to see someone like you making customs roms, root tools, etc. Thanks again man!

Here are my tips for the breakout

This rom is great... its the phone that creates issues

Not much ram available so
-dont use a bunch of widgets
-keep. The apps running in the bg in check

Not much front end memory.
- get rom toolbox from market set apps to sdcard default, boost sdcard r/w speed

The phone is weird about how it sets permissions
-every get rom manager and run fix permissions every so often

Alarm clock issue
-fixed download one from market (the one with android in name works well)

Lock ups and lag

Get QQ launcher pro
-from put your apps in like 5 folders in the app drawer.. its less the phone has to draw and eliminates a scroll animation.... unless you like random app searches in the stock app drawer :)
-I ir comes with one he'll of a task manager.. that is light and on the form of a widget that keeps you updated on your available ram.. y'all don't have a lot lol. You can kill the offending programs one at a time.. or all at once.

- its faster and smoother for the breakout.

- you can put the stuff you normally open or have as widgets in a folder on your app tray or home page.. again less icons for your phone to draw.

- it comes with sweet lock screens and themes.. no need to download a bunch of junk

After I did all of that . Combined with 2.0.. my girlfriend has had no force closes since getting 2.0.. the designer has done a wonderful job troubleshooting this problematic phone with 2.0.

This link will lead you too rom manager and rom toolbox https://play.google.com/store/apps/...GwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS50ZW5jZW50LnFxbGF1bmNoZXIiXQ..

The alarm clock app that works well with this https://play.google.com/store/apps/...mNvbS5zcGx1bmNoeS5hbmRyb2lkLmFsYXJtY2xvY2siXQ..

Always calibrate your battery after flashing. https://play.google.com/store/search?q=calibration&c=apps

@rom toolbox.. don't go and mess with a lot of the theme options they can mess up your phone. Boot animation change works.. and boot logo changer.... root file manager is about as good as it gets.. this app is a must have.. just be careful with it

I must say, I stopped using my Breakout because I had so many issues with the previous build (yeah, dumb reason but I'm finicky lol). When I saw a new build I decided to update it. Lo and behold, I'm hooked on my Breakout again. Excellent work! Please keep it up!

Did you get this resolved:confused:

Trying to update my LG Revo from Broken Out 1.1 to either 1.2 or 2.0, I follow directions, and as I get to the "installing kernel" message I then get the following:

assert failed: write_raw_image("/tmp/boot.img","boot")
E:Error in /emmc/BrokenOutBreakout2.0.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.

Suggestions?
EDIT: tried wiping Dalvik cache then tried this, no joy, same error. I then tried wiping my cache and my Dalvik cache, then tried update, had to pull battery and restore, almost bricked phone. EEEK!

FINAL EDIT: this isn't going to work on the Revo, I just found out. Never mind...

Performed the flash, then turned off debug. eveything seems to work, but when I plug the usb cable to my computer, the Breakout drive is labeled CD drive and I cannot access any folders or files. The USB mass storage is enabled. What did I miss?
