When I went into the store they had indeed pulled the LTEvo display phone from the floor but I was able to get them to take it out for me. :)

Was nice to be able to hold it without the tethering apparatus attached to it.

I'm at a Best Buy Mobile right now, they also have this same display. I can say the feel of the phone is nice, but the top back is definitely a fingerprint magnet.
 
I got to hold a non-working display unit in BB today as well. It is so much lighter than my 3D, but doesn't feel flimsy...still a solid feel. Amazing that the screen is so much larger, but no wider than the 3D. I also like the way the camera lens is protected. No worries about laying it down and scratching the lens (although the kickstand could prevent that as well).

I asked them when pre-orders would be in, and they weren't sure. They've taken 10 orders so far. They're weren't guaranteeing that they'd be in by the 18th. I'm glad I went ahead and ordered from Sprint. Also found Sprint will give me $90 credit for my 3D, so I will probably go that route for simplicity sake.

Can't wait to get one in my hand! :D
 
course they cant guarantee just as sprint says they will "try" to get your phone shipped to you sooner than others.. point is they under promise and over deliver.

point is, if you ordered at BBY, you will get yours on 18 may. if you pre-ordered thru sprint, you _MIGHT_ get yours at the 16-17 may :D
 
The saled Dood at BB I deal with told me to just stop in on Friday to get my phone. No BS dealing there. By the way he talked it "seemed" that he's got them already. He told me I won't have to worry about shortages. I asked if me being late to the pre-order game would hurt my chances of getting one on the 18th. Reply was we've had less pre-orders than expected so we've got plenty in stock. That was how he worded it, so it seems to me, he's got em already. ;)
 
So has anyone got a confirmation email saying your device has shipped? I was really under the impression it would ship by Monday and well i just woke up and checked my email and nothing :( :( :(

Anyone heard anything about the number of preorders? I thought it was expected it to sell out so I rushed and ordered one right when it started but I still see it open today.
 
I got my activation fee waived without any issues. I called up their top tier support and asked to get the fee waived, the cs rep looked into my account and said no problem. Before I called, I had come up with a whole speech I would give them as to why I deserved to get the fee waived but in the end none of this was required. The phone call took about 5 minutes at most. They had not charged me the fee yet so she put a note in my account that they would cover it.

Anyone who mentioned Monday was idle speculation, not confirmed fact. This is what happens when the rumor mill spins out of control--
 
Pre-ordered mine through a local Sprint "repair" store and had to buy a $50 gift card as a "down payment", but he told me they will be getting them in the 16th or 17th and to just come in and pick it up in the morning on the 18th. I am going to go in on the 17th and see if i cant get them to crack open their boxes since UPS ships early to them - and we have a small business contract with them and i know some of the guys working there...might be possible?! Seriously can't wait to get ahold of this phone. Been an OG EVO owner from day one and I cant tell you how many times I have had to change my underwear everytime i think about getting this phone in my hands (ok not really but at this point im counting the hours.) Only thing that is a drag is the enclosed battery - stupid, stupid move. I have had an extended on my evo forever and its amazing.
 
Yeah I was skeptical about shipping.to begin on Monday as well...just curious cause now there's 4 business days left between today and Friday(national release date) so I geuss we shall see
 
I say let's call Sprint and say "listen up. Why in the blue hell are holding our phone hostage? Let our phones go. Let our phones go." this will surely start some type of chain reaction where a rep would loose it due to so many calls and to save their sanity, will have to ship it ou today.

Unless you have 7 plagues to rain down on the Sprint Executives I don't think it will happen. It would be pretty cool though if it rained AT&T iPhones. :p
 
I've been with Sprint over 10 years too and asked what promotions were going on can I get a credit for resigning like I normally do and was told no the only promotion this month and she said it's for everyone is the upgrade fee is bveing waived. She said I had to call back though after it hit my account and the 36 dollar fee would be waived. Which I'll take it and getting the phone from BB for 149.99 is good too. Can't wait till Friday!

Whether you like or hate people at Sprint, they work for a living. No one gets paid enough to be on the end of a web campaign over something that they can't control.

Let's just please be patient instead.

Close your eyes and say, "OMGZ!! I am already not waiting until June 10th!!" ;) :)
