Just bought my S2 and I absolutely love it. It's on Gingerbread 2.3.6.
I also own a tablet (Asus Eee-pad transformer0 that also ran great (it was on Honeycomb when I bought it). But Asus released ICS without any way to refuse it, and now it's very unreliable. Like 80% of all transformers became unstable. It's all over the dedicated forums and Asus has been denying it for way too long, and now they finally are working on a fix.
So I'm very worried the same thing will happen to my S2. I don't know how Samsung deals with updates. I've read that they use something called Kies, but I don't know for sure. So, can I avoid ICS by never using Kies?
Sorry if this a bit of a 'noob' question, but I'm really new to this phone.
Thanks in advance.
