***Official HTC Incredible Thread***

i work for vzw..i don't think you'll have a problem getting it the day of release..most people don't even know about this phone...ppl knew abt the droid b/c of the major marketing campaign and it was during xmas time when ppl are shopping and still it was in stock...

Didnt the droid get release n Nov 6th? that is over 3 weeks before black friday much less xmas time..... and their campain started in september, I believe was the only thing that almost made me reup my contract glad I didnt

I think the Incredible being as light if not lighter than the Eris is amazing. I mean, that's whack. How can you pack that much power into such a tiny little thing? lol I am real hyped for this phone.

1) Flaming the Mods will only get this new thread shutdown.
2) Don't blame the Mods as it's their job to do what was done. While we may have been enjoying, it the fact is that it's up to the Mods to make sure things stay on topic regardless. There is no exception/thread by thread basis
3) It's not really that big of a deal to have to post to another thread. I understand everyone's frustration but it's not as if we have to reinvent the wheel. Just look for a new thread title.

It will be okay everyone. If anything this is HTC and Verizon's fault. If those summa bitches would let us know when the damn Incredible was coming out we wouldn't be here now would we ?

Same thought crossed my mind, but its actually smaller than the N1 and only slightly bigger than an iPhone, so you figure that isn't too bad. It looks really big in the pics we have, but I bet once we officially hold one will be like, wow it isn't as big as it looked..

Yes we are pissed the thread is locked up and yes we are mad, but it's okay. WE WILL get over it and move on. NO BIGGIE. The AF forum members are smart enough to come here to continue the thread. He HAD to lock it. It's his job and without stellar mods like him, this whole forum would be one HUGE cluster**ck! So let's THANK him for doing his job and now NO ONE has to say anything more on being pissed about the thread being closed!

One guy said he had a meeting with an HTC rep and another person mentioned his friend at an authorized retailer was having a meeting today. Hopefully they both make their way back.

Like 120 of 141 pages was off topic. The thread drove more people here recently then anything else. Every time I did a google search androidforums was a top search there.

hey seriously though, I saw an article on the droid getting a 2.1 update at the end of the month... Anyone think that lends evidence that the Incred. will launch then? Maybe they want the droid to be on 2.1 when the Incredible launches so customers don't get pissed and whatnot. Might keep customers from complaining and wanting an early upgrade to the Incredible.

When I say the title of the article it just clicked and made sense to me. I thought, hmm maybe they means the Incredible will be out sooner than expected. Maybe the day the 2.1 comes out the Incredible will launch?

No one has any ideas on the 2.1 rolling out for the droid end of the month? With all the fragmentation talk lately, I think this totally could be a sign the Incredible will be launching around that time too

I think that someone just bet on the whole "how many posts will this thread have by the incredible release." No better way to when then cheat.

I don't think the moto release will really be any indicator of when the Increddy launches. I believe the hold up on the release has been Motos fault and not Verizons.

I have seen mods on other forums close thread for in-civility, but not because the thread took a direction (even off topic) that was not keeping with the thread theme.

Generally, as long as it's civil, they feel it's not their business to keep it on track, or care what we post.

Oh well.

I was quite surprised when I logged in this morning and found the old "official" thread to be locked due to a mod getting uptight with the direction of the thread. As a previous poster said, I've seen this happen before to end fights or bickering, but not because the mod was tired of the off-topic chatter. Then I noticed another thread was locked by a different mod because it was "no longer needed." Sheesh. Shouldn't the original poster be the one to determine this since he/she set the tone for the whole thread?

Anyway, I'm kind of bummed at the lack of info lately. I was really hoping for something more concrete by now, but I guess I'll just have to keep waiting like the rest of us. Hopefully we'll get some good news on the 23rd.
