Root Changing fonts

Poking around in Root Explorer, I discovered the Fonts folder, which leads to two questions:

Do I understand correctly that the included ones are TrueType and other TrueType fonts should work?

How would I go about changing which one displays?

Yes any .ttf font will work although some won't display all that well on such a small screen.. You can change them using an app like this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sImNvbS5tYXJ0aW5vMms2LmZvbnRjaGFuZ2VybGl0ZSJd or there are other font changer apps if you just search font changer in the market. Most will allow you to select any .ttf you have on your sdcard.

also look at Absolute System. Comes with tons of fonts and boot animations.
Even supports Motorola triumph on stock ROM, with it's weird boot animation location.

Does the boot animation function also include startup sounds? I'm thinking about getting Tasker once I get paid, figuring I can use that for shutdown sound, but I doubt it would help for startup. :)

I'm content enough with the animation I have (it's pretty cute, IMO), just want to add sound to that and the shutdown to help alert me to surprise self-reboots. I've had one such instance with my current ROM (which is a LOT better than stock!).

Once I get the sound thing sorted out and get my icons adjusted to my theme's color scheme, I'll be quite happy with the customizing. I'm already quite pleased by functioning.
