I certainly hope so. I've been trying to google about the situation almost hourly.

After comparing to the Galaxy Nexus, I'm considering jumping ship. The processor is .3Ghz slower but you can ACTUALLY get one. And it does have double the internal memory. I love my OG EVO and would like to stay in the Evo family but this waiting without a definite release date is killing me.

Not picking on you in particular here as your post is similar to many others on here...

If you love your current phone, why do you need to rush to get a new one?
I don't understand the urgency to have something new just because and all the griping going on about it.
While I pre-ordered the first day and wish I was sitting here this weekend playing my my LTE, I am content to wait as my EVO 4G just keeps on ticking.

Also, I do not understand all these people who have already sold their current phone based on a pre-order.
If I could not survive without a phone, I am pretty sure I would not sell my current one until I had my new one in hand...just sayin.

Your absolutely right! But it something for people to do, I guess!? I know a guy who had waited two months for an iphone and it broke (nothing he did) on him 5 times....get this, my HTC phone had a bad battery once, he told me that I should switch to team iphone!? WTF!? This is what apple want, and I'm glad Sprint did not heavily advertise, because the masses would make excuse knowing that Sprint and HTC had no control!;)

It does have more internal memory, but no expandable memory, which I have personal preference for. However, you're right, the specs are overall very similar. But I think if you dig a little deeper, you'll see the EVO LTE has several advantages over the GNex spec wise. That being said, That is not my concern with the GNex.. Samsung is not exactly known to have the strongest radios. I went through 3 SGSII's hoping to get a working GPS, but no luck! Even on the more recent GNex (Both Sprint and Verizon versions), you will see alot of complaints about radio signal issues. Therefore, Its not necessarily the specs that you should consider, but the actual functionality of the device.

To many, particularly in a forum like this, you are going to find that to many people, this is like a "hobby" and they like to have the latest devices, that they are "fan's" of.

Also, I do not understand all these people who have already sold their current phone based on a pre-order.

Some people may need to sell their old device to help cover the costs of the new device.

Although I see your points, I just think its fair to look at both sides of the story.

The 23rd was thrown around internally even Inside Sprint can confirm that, I doubt it was just a date BB pulled out of the air. That said I doubt HTC needs anymore bad publicity so smart move telling them to remove it. Last thing they need is another disappointment to it's loyal customers. I do however believe they really though that inspection would happen Friday and would be able to deliver by Wed. the 23rd.

Even if the inspection happens on Monday they should be good to go next week by say Friday at the latest if the CBP gets their inspectors in there I don't think it will be long, I'm with you glass half full!

Were essentially saying the same thing! If HTC told Sprint and BB that we may have the 23rd as a possible solid date, Sprint kept it internal and BB decided to email customers (IMO to avoid as many cancellation as possible). This delay is already bad news for HTC, and for BB to give a date that's not definitive, IMO I think HTC made them retrack their statement, so it does not add more fuel to the already burning fire!;)

I can understand that.

The promise of a phone as great as the new Evo put all of us on an emotional high, and the release getting bumped up from June to May probably almost doubled that for everyone. Next, we get this limbo and if that's not a downer, what is?

That's why I can understand where you're coming from. We get few adult toys that give this pleasure that we get to enjoy and have the pleasure build as we go through feature discovery. What we didn't ask for was the emotional roller coaster ride. It's tiring and it's a drag.

You don't have to be a fanboy or a member of the phone of the month club to feel that way. It's a phone, you want to get it and move on to life's next next episode.

Many of us found that the Evo 3D was a big step up from the Evo, and in many ways the Nexus is a good step up from the 3D. The new Evo will be a step up from the Nexus, no question (it's not just a fraction of the clock speed, it's a new processor architecture taking greater advantage of its resources with better power efficiency).

People want what they want, and you gotta do what you gotta do for you.

There's no perfect phone, just the phone that's best for you at a point in time, and Android is all about choice.

There's often something lemony about Samsung radios, but lots of people seem to never have an issue. All of the makers need to step it up on quality and you never know in advance.

I think that if anyone is past waiting, considering the Nexus is a worthy idea.

Make sure of your return policy, that can vary by vendor, and keep an open mind. The new Evo is likely to be out before the dust settles and if the Nexus wasn't the right choice, swap it for the LTEvo.

Personally, I would wait a day or two before pulling the trigger because this is such a fluid situation, but that's me.

Best luck, it's all Android so it's all good. ;) :)

Why I am excited about EL TEvo -

I spend a lot of time in a lot of forums, and I go by technology and user feedback when considering phones.

Based on that, I have to give the HTC Rezound the 2011 Best Phone All Around award.

You can find models that top this or that feature, but all around, it nailed it with processing horsepower, battery life (including 4G LTE), call quality, radio quality (phone and GPS), and definitely camera quality.

The LTEvo is stepping up each of those areas and that's why it's being called the best Android phone so far in a lot of corners of the blogosphere.

We're going to need to keep an eye on the new Sense 4.0 multitasking and probably a few other things, but I think this may be the one for 2012 - we'll see! :)

I heard they were already in the warehouse but I don't know if that's true. Before all this happened they were telling people phones would be shipped on the 15th and then this all happened and if they really were gonna ship when Sprint said they were they would've already been at the warehouse. That is why I don't get it. Maybe I'll take a ride over there tomorrow and see if I can find out what is going on. I don't even know where it is except it is in Louisville Kentucky where I live.

Not to rain on anyone's parade but it's pretty much fact that the inspection did not take place yet so there is 0 chance they are shipping tomorrow.

Also if they do pass on Monday, if even inspected then, don't they have to first ship to a Sprint location then to us? So probably the earliest shipping date, except if Sprint already has some in their warehouse, would be Wed/Thurs.

I promised a friends son he could buy my phone and all my accessories for $250. Not only do I need the money but it was supposed to be last weekend and I held it off till this one. Were doing the deal tonight around 5 or 6. His phone has a cracked screen and my friend said he needs a phone ASAP. I'm paying 150 for the new one at BB so I come out with enough money for a nice Seidio case and screen protector and even a car or home dock. All I'll have to buy if needed is an external battery charger. Seidio has the charging vault and I found one brand on Amazon for 19.99. Right now I have a car and a home dock and love them both so I'll probably get both again. I'm sure I'll have to pay for an accessory but that is ok. I have an old Katana DLX and a Lotus that I can use which I mentioned before.

So I really hope the phones are at the warehouse and we get them sometime next week. I am thinking there will be more info tomorrow since it's the weekend and nothing is going on. Last year the 3D got delayed so long that I had to buy another OG EVO and return in after a couple weeks and pay the 35 dollar restocking fee. If it goes for 2 weeks or so then I may have to buy another 3D at Best Buy they have a 30 day return and no restocking fee I was told.

I heard they were already in the warehouse but I don't know if that's true.

We know they have a good potion at a UPS distribution center in KY where they are held until an inspector gives the ok go ahead. Getting pre-orders to people won't be much of a problem but the ones that have to wait for a store to get stock in (like myself) might have to wait an extra day or two for them to get them in and then officially set a release date. If you ordered online you'll probably have your phone a day or maybe 2 before I do but I went with local buybacks so I don't have much of a choice.

UPS maintains a Sprint warehouse, with the ability to pull phones and directly ship them to customers.

A portion of the warehouse is bonded (and locked off) for customs. (Ever seen Beverly Hills Cop?)

The Sprint Insider claims that the ordered phones are picked and packed, including in the bonded area.

If that still means what it used to, then as soon as customs releases the phones, they will go down conveyors to direct delivery to those pre-ordered and to stores at the speed of UPS efficiency, pretty high.

Once again, here's the link to the video. It's very informative and highly recommended for those interested. :)

I actually had the Rezound for 4 days and loved it. Toyed with going back to Verizon. However I couldnt justify the nearly $50 more on my phone bill. I get work discount on Sprint and still love the Evo. I will def say after researching, the Rezound was the only phone I wanted on Verizon and didnt have any regrets(except returning it too late and paid restocking, activation and phone bill). I do think the beats headphones were kinda crappy though. Put old stereo headphones in and sounded 100 times better then those that came with the phone. I am glad I stumbled across the new EVO cause I wanted to stay with Sprint, stay with HTC and have a phone that would blow my current Evo away(which I still like).

All the more reason to wait until you are sure the phone is available...

I think that Sprint announcing a release date and people getting confirming emails and others posting tracking numbers (with pictures) pretty well qualified as sure of phone availability. Even Sprint thought so.

The criticism of people who set reasonable expectations has gone past cynicism and has risen to snark.

I tried a positive post to make a point of how easy it is to be supportive instead.

The remarks telling people what they should have done with the clarity of a Monday morning quarterback ends here and now.

Failure to heed this warning carries consequences.

Had this been intended for one person, I would have said it privately.

The zero tolerance for snark warning is in effect.

Sorry to be that guy, but it is what it is. :)

UPS Delivers for Sprint - UPS Pressroom

Great Video! Thanks for sharing it with us Mon!

That's one facility I'd love to take a walking tour of!

I preordered from Best Buy and this is my 1st time getting a phone from them. I've either done telesales or the Sprint store. Once way back when I got this Sanyo 4900 I did Radio Shack. But the times I've ordered through telesales my phone has come real quick cause warehouse/ups is here. But I am still hoping since I preordered at Best Buy I will get mine soon. If there shipping to the Sprints preorder people then I hope they ship to BB and RS for there preorder people also at the same time. I just want my phone already and if I wasn't selling my 3D tonight I wouldn't be as upset and would wait it out. But it will be ok cause I have the Transformer Prine tablet and will be able to do everything on there play my games etc... So I should be ok.

So I want to know who the guy with the LTEvo is showing off SVDO.

If I find out he works for customs, me and the posse are gonna saddle up and get a rope! :D

He's in Tucson. Get an address and I can be there in 90 minutes.

Good thing to note is the spectacular speeds here in AZ. My 3G speeds in Tucson, when we lived there, were faster than here in PHX. So sad.

And, to all of you complaining about not getting your phone, I've been waiting for months to port my work number to a new 4th line or (enter ominous voice) be forced to accept a work iPhone. I thought I timed it perfectly and started the porting process on Wednesday. Oops.
