***Official HTC Incredible Thread***

If all this information proves true then there's no doubt in my mind that the phone will be launched at CTIA and will be available for sale three or four days later. This is like Christmas in spring time. :-)

That post just brought another "lurker" to the forum. Hopefully that date holds true because I literally have been salivating for the phone thanks to my Moto Q9C :mad:

I still fail to see how anyone is losing money on these phones. The parts are bought in bulk, and the phones are then produced at the cost of foreign wages (i.e. slightly better than sweat shops) and the they are sold to the carriers (after they negotiate an exclusivity contract to have the latest and greatest). After they release the phone there are those among us that pay full retail because we are in the midst of our 2 year contract and at the same time they offer a "discounted price" for new customers to come on board and hook them for the next 2 years. So really noone is losing money on any of the products the produce. The manufacturers' are getting more than they put in from the product from the carriers and the carriers are getting their money back from the contracts, right?

I feel the exact same way. It's a shame people couldn't keep on topic even after several warnings. :mad:

I think we had like a full page of HTC/Apple patent lawsuit discussion, and every thread on this forum that had that discussion was locked, and redirected to the main thread in the Lounge, so that was no surprise our thread was closed.
 
There will be an Internet Blog explosion on the 23rd, if they announced 27th release date.

I just hope this this firecracker isn't a dud.
 
A few more confirmations of the date will go a long way...

I'm trying to temper the excitement. My NE2 isn't up until Feb, but I don't give a damn!

no such luck. i asked her to just say yes or no and verify the date.
all she wrote was "i cannot."
to be honest - i dunno if she'd tell me if she knew. when she first told me that a HTC rep was there and said incred in April (pushed from March) she was very, "you can't tell anyone" yada yada yada.

who knows... but man the 27th sounds nice....

From what NKT was saying and showing the Incredible (there I mentioned the phone so this is on topic) is in the last cycle of its testing phase is not completed testing. As for 2 weeks, there are probably phases. You still find things needing fixing. Broken stuff is analyzed and new task lists go out making phases of the testing. so the back and forth may take more then 2 weeks.

isn't that when someone also mentioned that the BB Storm was released prior to the final testing phase being thoroughly completed?

TBH this is only half right, like I have said before if they feel the market is right and the phones do not have any total failures in the initial stages of testing (be it hardware ir software) they will move along with the release. It has happened before and will happen again, the most recent example being the N1. Had they completed the testing phases they would have realized the screen cracking issue and the multi-touch hardware issue.

It will be okay everyone. If anything this is HTC and Verizon's fault. If those summa bitches would let us know when the damn Incredible was coming out we wouldn't be here now would we :D?

Perhaps the mods could have explain their arbitrary line they drew to determine what is "on-topic" in an "official" forum where nothing about the phone in question is actually official except for the name! Were we only supposed to post about the name? How its spelled, the font? But wait that would only be opinions and nothing concrete which must surely be off topic to the Basij's who run this place.
To me "on topic" means anything about the phone past or future. Which means anything that might interfere with future updates or possible future crippling all due to a certain lawsuit is on topic because of the effect on the phone.
