Check out the N1 testing videos - maybe on youtube. They those suckers with this testing machine. Also tumbled them. It was impressive. After watching it you will only wonder what the hell type of jeans those people are wearing????

Jeans made of hammers and razor blades of course...you don't have any? It's all the rage! :D

Not to speak for NKT but I think he only had it in his hand for a very short time. I believe he said some of what he stated was from his reading of the documentation that came with the phone. I also believe he later stated that he found evidence that went along with the onboard storage that Sericson stated when he went back through the materials.

Agreed, i remember all that, just trying to get a final confirmation now that the release is eminent. I also agree with the the other comments above that this would be further supported if HTC really did "high grade" this phone from a mid-tier product to a high end, but it begs the question, if that did happen, what other little tweaks were made? dual mic? 6.4 --> 8 mp? 768/850 Mhz --> 1 Ghz? 512 --> 1 gb RAM? etc...

release as in for sale. He said that they will have their inventory by next Tues. I will be there Tues afternoon with money in hand.

So if release date is the 27th, but they will have inventory the 23rd, you think they will sell you one on the 23rd?

ie Should I start stalking my local store next Tuesday?

I'm pretty confident that the Incredible has been 8MP the whole time, it just is defaulted to take pictures that come out as 6.4 MP.....just like if you take a picture with a 5MP camera, they probably will come out to 4.2 MP or something like that.

Perhaps the mods could have explain their arbitrary
To me "on topic" means anything about the phone past or future. Which means anything that might interfere with future updates or possible future crippling all due to a certain lawsuit is on topic because of the effect on the phone.
This is exactly how I feel and you can thank me for all of the the Apple lawsuit mumbo-jumbo yesterday on the old thread. Point is it wasn't without merit and the lawsuit COULD stand to potentially delay the release of any new HTC Android phones, including the Incredible. So how the heck is that "off topic" given that the thread title itself encompasses ALL THINGS INCREDIBLE and not specific topics such as specs, battery life, release date, photos of product seen in the wild, etc. etc.

If whoever started the thread wanted to reduce it to a certain subset of topics then that should have been made clear from the get go or else new threads that were item/topic specific should have been created in its place. The shutting down of the thread is not the fault of myself or any poster here, as far as I'm concerned, but more a problem of the broad nature of the thread title itself.

How did i know this would somehow come to be my fault...j/k;)

My guess would be that they "high graded" the device when we saw the last round of improvements stated by NKT and Sericson when the memory jumped to 512, onboard memory appeared, etc. I don't think we are talking about it now making another jump. Most likely the revision phones that testers are getting now are probably the final revision and free phones for being testers. Any changes are most likely cosmetic and software tweaks.

Hey, stay on topic! J/k j/k

I love the "water cooler" feel this thread has. I picked up a droid after holding out for one whole day... I plan on taking it back at or before launch. So I have been coming here to get my Incredible news fix since page 27 or so... back when I thought what was huge.

Keep it up and I hope this afternoons news turns out true. :D

LOL!! Not your fault at all, you've been awesome and still are AWESOME! You blew me away today with that red rendering of the phone. I would actually pay a premium for that color if it was an option. "Hello, Verizon. Anybody home or listening!?" :D

Yes, I believe I would pay extra for that also, very impressive.

I'm very interested in this phone. Right now I have a Touch Pro 2 and the only thing stopping me from getting the Incredible is Slingbox. I haven't been able to find many updates on when/if sling is going to make an application for Android. I read something about a release in the summer but that hasn't been confirmed. Do you guys think it's worth the wait to ditch Windows Mobile for Android and just wait patiently for sling?

If it is available on the 27th, even close to the assumed specs, it blows away any other phone that most of us are going to get it no matter what - I am..and my NE2 isn't up until Feb 2011.

Correct. Could be it was the Incredible all along and they either got it confused with the N1 or simply wrong.

I made an attempt to check the original source, but because of the limitations of google translate, I had no idea how to enter a Chinese search term to find the original article to see if it had been modified in any way.

So maybe the digit times had the right Sender and right Receiver, they just had the package wrong.

HTC shipping Nexus One to Verizon? Huh? | Android Central

Correct. Could be it was the Incredible all along and they either got it confused with the N1 or simply wrong.

That was BGR's take on the article -

"If HTC is shipping anything to Verizon, it’s most likely the HTC-branded Incredible (with HTC Sense UI); the Verizon-compatible Nexus One is, in all likelihood, being shipped to Google’s distribution partner Brightpoint."

anyone else feel like we are the only people that know about this phone
Yes, but it won't last for long. When folks who cannot peruse this thread during the day get home from work or school, it's going to explode in here - especially with one or two more confirmations of the phone being released on the 27th. At that point it will be a pure waiting game and an exciting build up to the release. It's like once you know it's coming the entire dialogue will shift from all this speculation regarding specs, release dates, battery life, etc. to things like, "What's the first thing you're going to do with the Incredible once you have it?" That will be much more fun to discuss then some of the stuff previous to this.

Just watched the vid, very very similar to what we do here. Everything but the tumbling. I'm surpirised that they had a test set up specifically for pocketing the n1 but are still having issues. But then again it is in house testing and their failure parameters can be a little...biased towards what they feel will help keep their conscience clear.

I called two different Verizon stores and they had never even heard of the incredible till I had them google it.
It was mentioned several times in the old thread that the stores sometimes won't know about a new phone coming to them until as little as two days before its released, so this does not come as a surprise.
