If you're getting a Galaxy S3 and can't wait or just want to try out some of the apps, wallpapers etc, a lot of it has now been posted on XDA.

Sorry if this was already posted, I didn't see another thread!

Been trying out S Voice and it seems to work well, voice recognition is good and it has a lot more commands than Vlingo :)
 
gotta love xda. the flipboard apk works well with my ICS tablet. with s-voice i keep getting a server error. some on xda think samsungs servers might be overwhelmed since they were not expecting traffic with this app so soon. s suggest works fine, but not really impressed with what it offers.

i am hoping s-voice works in the future- be nice to set alarms, play music etc while at home.

is this still working for you? i see you commented earlier today. not working for me 5 pm in nyc. wondering if samsung shut it down. many on xda cant get it working

Like you said it could just be overwhelmed servers.
 
I hope it's just being hammered to because it really sucks right now. As good as the live wallpapers look, they still run crappy on the Galaxy Nexus. They run good on the SGS III though ;-)
 
awesome stuff. Downloaded most of this earlier today but have not installed any of it on my note yet.

reports are that sVoice is just a new, cleverly named version of vlingo (not saying I told you so until I play with it haha)

there are already folks working on porting other features of the s3 as well, can't wait!!!

It may use vlingo voice recognition but it's a lot more intelligent than the vlingo on the sgs2. It's less command based than before, I.e. you can say "I want to call bob"

I can speak to it normally rather than having to speak slowly and loudly to get it to understand me too.
 
I knew it wouldn't take long to find a fix.

Anytime you edit the build.prop file there can be other effects though. If you are going to do that just keep in mind that other apps may no longer work, some apps may not show up in the market (or updates for apps you already have), etc...

I'll bear that in mind. So far I haven't encountered any side effects, but it has only been half an hour :p
