[Official] Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE Pre-release thread - Sprint official launch is Saturday, June 2

Any word on the BB pre-orders? In a classic situation, I will be getting on a plane starting early Thursday morning (before BB opens) and I won't be back home until Friday evening. If Friday ends up being official release date, will BB hold my pre-order through Friday night - Saturday morning, or am I SOL here?

Yes we would hold it for you. We email you when your phone has arrived and you have 72 hours to pick it up before we sell it to the next preorder or put it on the shelf

Their agreement is to wait for the carrier release and coordinate the sales date with them.

That said - during the Nexus release, while even those with BB friends couldn't get it done, one guy walked out of a BB a day early with his phone. He took pictures to prove it - and the BB employee called him begging him to return it so the guy didn't lose his job.

Another guy had an eager store manager sell him one a day early and didn't care what Verizon said about it.

So - exceptions exist, but the rule is they have to follow the carrier on public releases.

It would be nice if Sprint said "You got em? You sell em!" It's the least they could do as we've waited this long.

I've been sharing with everybody, but for those of you that were hoping an app comes out that'll allow you to use Live Wallpapers created from gif's...here ya go:

I'm using it right now and so far so good. No noticable lag from the animated gif I'm using and it's fairly clear (I'm sure if I used a bigger sized gif, it'd work even better).

Ask the ball if I'll have my phone by Thursday for store pickup I leave out of town on Friday. /cry

I was expecting it to say "All signs point to yes" - basically, I think it wouldn't hurt to schmooze the manager a little bit. ;)

I'm so happy for all of you!!! I can't wait to read about the initial impressions and how this phone performs over the next few months. And I'm looking forward to when LTE finally goes live in a market where there are EL Tevo customers to see how that works. YAY!

For me it's going to be either this phone or whatever Motorola is going to release (if anything), in August/September (possibly).

I have been watching this thread from the beginning and I just joined. You guys have had the best information and I cannot wait for my Evo. I had the iPhone from Verizon but I missed my original evo and am excited to get the evo 4g lte. The iPhone doesn't come close, I was mad at my husband for wanting us to get them but now were both on the evo preorder list. I cannot stand crapple!

Welcome to the forums! :)

Well, this is great news! But I'm wondering what it means for people who pre-ordered from Amazon? Sounds like people who pre-ordered from Sprint will be the first one to receive them, no? So does Sprint need to deliver it to Amazon, and then Amazon deliver it to its customers? I don't really know how this works, but does anyone have any estimates of when Amazon pre-orderers should expect it? I'd guess not for another week+.

Welcome Aboard the AF train :D

LTEVO sez, resistance is futile :p

So let me get this straight, the next step for this forum is to post our tracking numbers? Is this part of the excitement, proof that we weren't bs'ng or to rub it in to all those who canceled their pre-orders? And who's bringing the snacks to this party?

Call Sprint and buy up for upgrade. Probably cost you less than $45.

Thanks but...

I'm a "wait and see" kind of guy. I'm never the first to adopt a new device. I'm a little more cautious than most of you here. LOL!

So, I'll wait until I have my last Premier Gold upgrade in August/September. Also I do want to see if Motorola is going to release something and possibly have a chance to compare. Also I kind of want to wait until Network Vision/LTE rolls out here. It's supposed to happen by the end of the year.

I'm going to live vicariously through all of you and do my usual compulsive analyzing of every angle of a possible upgrade. I find waiting and comparing to be as exciting as being "first."

So, I'm going to be in on the party but I'll be the guy in the corner of the room chatting up the other introverts gathered there. LOL!

Ok - this is not the LTEvo, it's the One X - and it's not a BlendTec, but it is a dryer - anyway -

I don't honestly know if this is a new high or a new low in silly phone demonstrations! :D

I can understand some real world tests similar to this - I could see putting it through the washer &/or dryer to see if it would still work afterwards but putting it in an otherwise empty dryer for HOURS does seem pretty silly.... and the blender tests are funny but those are definitely just for destruction and laughs. Oh well... maybe the guys in this video are just killing time amusing themselves until they get their LTEvo's!!! :D

Haven't gotten as far as snacks - personally, I prefer some nice tapas or something.

BTW - Marc and I voted, so it's official - you've been elected to buy beer for the mods. :)

:hahaha: You are welcome! :cheers::dancing2:

Wow, that is crazy :) Good to know if my LTEVO goes in the drink. I can toss into a dryer to resuscitate it :D
You just can't find that kind of information anywhere else ;)

Saw this on sprint.com/myorder:

"Thank you for pre-ordering the EVO 4G LTE. We will do our best to get it to you by Thursday, May 24. You will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking number the moment your new phone ships. We apologize but we cannot support any further cancel requests at this time as our warehouse is processing orders. However, you may refuse shipment or call to request a return kit once you receive shipment."

Now, if this means they are shipping tonight, I should get my phone tomorrow. Items sent from Louisville usually get to me overnight.

Getting excited!
