How to Connect Jump Drive or 3G dongle?

Thinking I can use it to connect a USB jump drive and also a 3G dongle for use of my tab 2 outside where NO WIFI is available, I purchased

When I use this charger which works OK to power my Tab 2, and use the second USB port on the charger to connect the jump drive, the jump drive is not recognised by the TAB. What am I doing wrong - is the ReVIVE dualFLUX charger not meant to be used thus?

Also how does one use the TAB outside, where no wIFI is available - Samsung says any Plug & Play 3G adopters should work. Will appreciate your suggestions. Thanks.
 
Does this device have USB host capabilities? If not, you need a hotspot device (mifi), not a USB dongle.

hoping I could connect either a thumbdrive or a 3G usb dongle. But when i tried to attach a thumbdrive, it is NOT recognised! Perhaps I got the wrong adopter, can you or any other expert, please look at the link and advise if it is incompatible with TAB 2.

Also can you please advise what make is your " $4 dongle 30pin to usb OTG cable." and where you got it from?
