some recently posted news relating to those who want to get a smart phone early with thier ne2.

Verizon Wireless to offer early upgrades for some feature phone users headed to a smartphone Boy Genius Report

i saw that.... correct me if i'm wrong but as it is only being offered in limited geographical regions, i could't tie this offer to the incredible's being offered. At first I thought, hmmm.... they want to make it so more people can get the incredible. ... but I discounted it because the offer seems only to be good regionally, as I said, and is only in certain stores, like Wal-Mart.

I'm thinking that perhaps VZ is trying to dump old Ominias and BB's? Perhaps.

...

Now since Google is handling the N1 release for Verizon (I do actually believe this), than what other news could there POSSIBLY be about next week and announcements? Or this week and HTC reps, or this week and "special behind closed doors and Verizon employee meetings?

Just sayin
.........

In response to what other news there could POSSIBLY be... a from left field idea is that they may announce release of the Saygus (Saygus - Home) VPhone. I spoke with a person at Saygus early February and they told me they had completed Verizon certification. There has been no news I have seen or heard of on this phone since CES in early January.

Just thought I'd throw that out there while I impatiently fret away the hours/minutes waiting on something concrete about the Incredible release so I can resume a somewhat normal life.

First time poster. Been lurking since page 50ish of the last thread. Hello Hello

OK so here is my thoughts with the release announcement. I do not believe for a minute that the release of the N1 will be getting any news what so ever. Look at the N1 and AT&T today. No one heard any news of it yesterday and today....BAM, AT&T has the N1.

Thats might have more to do with the fact the AT&T N1 is not associated with any plans or upgrades. You're just getting an unlocked N1 that now works fully with AT&T as opposed to the original N1 which only worked on Edge with AT&T. Its really no different then getting a phone from Ebay.

you could be right and makes sense. i just wonder about the people who would break thier contract early for old older model smartphones when an incredible (to make the post offical) phone is on its way. :D

I wonder how long it will take this thread to get over 7000?:D

rumor round up time...so currently there are 2 android OS phones available thru verizon...the droid and the eris.

on the horizon I see that there is the N1 and the Incredible....any more in the near future?

Well I guess sprint will be next after AT&T to get the nexus one. WTF Verizon!

Am I one of the few that gets a $100 credit annually?

I get the $100 NE2 credit. I believe this is because I am on a higher plan ($110 a month) and am the main line on a plan with my mother who has been a Verizon Wireless customer ever since I can even remember.

....

If you all don't like humor, just let me know and I'm atta here. It doesn't matter to me. I'll get my phone and be just as happy as I was before I got here. Of course, I'll miss my new friends like Kappy and dozens of others. I just need to know if I'm considered one of the "bad apples." (Steven shakes his head.)

Not a bad apple in my book. Still scratching my head over the closing but whatever. Just continue the conversation over in this one, right?

Hmmm. I thought that it's 100 every 2, 50 every 1 year. When the droid was 199, customer serviced said "oh, your eligible for a 50 credit so it will only be 149"

May have something to do with not being on a family plan. I have qualified for a $100 discount for a couple of months now, and am only 14 months in to a 2 year contract. It has been like that as long as I remember (been a Verizon subscriber since '96)
