HTC Incredible: New Photos and Release Date
That article leads to more speculation that the Incredible was sent back for redesign. I'm thinking that's not the case from everything else we've uncovered so far.
The first round starts tomorrow. Verizon probably has the mentality of exposing their ads to the most amount of people, the first round is great for this. Who doesnt love following the first round upsets? I'd say its almost as popular as the final 4. However, you think we would have heard some inkling of a rumor about the potential ad campaign Verizon is launching...
I guess I don't understand, NKT said that the screen issues that the N1 had were not apparent on the Incredible test phone that he had access to.![]()

Some good points, Kappy. When paired w/ other info we know, I think A makes the most sense. Combine the early upgrade promo w/ the BOGO deal and the 2.1 update and the Droid & Eris look pretty good. That gives VZW about 2 weeks to push these two phones before they usher in the next generation: the Devour and the Incredible.
I think we'll then see a significant March Madness ad campaign to generate excitement for the release of the Devour (3/25) & Incredible (3/27?), followed by 4 more weeks of the early upgrade promo.
From a marketing standpoint, it seems like a pretty logical way to satisfy Droid/Eris users, entice potential Devour/Incredible customers, and get a significant number of people signed to 2-year contracts before AT&T launches the next iPhone in June. Just my $.02.
I know 3 people that work at the local Best Buy (although not the wireless dept) who I will be checking up with on a regular basis to ask if they see any cellphone-looking pallets in the back warehouse. I'll update here if I get any news. So far, there has been nothing on this front though.
edit: Ok after doing a very quick Google search, I do believe Best Buy had the Droid for pre-order before the official release date.. so hopefully this will be the case with the Incredible

I used to work at Best buy. Woop you should have them check there inventory system. They should be able to search for the model number, and it SHOULD tell them how many units they will be getting at their store/district as well. Should also give a clue as to when the release date is. That is only if the release date is in fact getting close. Just a thought.
Funny you say that. When my HTC Touch (xv6900) was ready to come out to VZ, I was all excited, as I am with this phone. Now the phone and I are not on speaking terms. The thrill is gone.![]()
I think htc stepped their game up and used the Clearpad 3000 screen for the incredible which does not have the problem.
Oh, for sure there's a big budgetary gap, but don't you think Phandroid.com will have a few people attending CTIA? If so, they should be pressing HTC and VZW on what's going on with new Android devices on HTC hardware? No one is talking right now from either company, nor does it appear that anyone in the media or Android community are pressing them on the status of new HTC devices running Android. That costs $$$. I bet that's one of the few reasons they don't go balls to the wall. TMZ.com has deep pockets. Phandroid (most likely) does not. It isn't cheap I am sure to do that kind of stuff, ya know?
lol well in my orginal message I clearly said the BeerBar0n tweeted it to ozzieman
True, unless VZW isn't planning on selling the phone through outlets like WM,BB,etc until later on in the year. Then it could be released later this month and not show up in BB inventory until later, right?
I think a lot of the "delay articles" come out when no new news comes out for awhile. The blogs need something to write about, so why not make stuff up?
ok, Here goes: I spoke to my Uncle, who has a friend who knows someone at Verizon. They said the phone is amazing and is indeed coming out on the 27th of March with a BGO offer.![]()
haha AWESOME! I heard if you buy 2 a full price they give you 6 months of service for free....![]()
