If i remember last year during the Masters there were Verizon ads. I wound't be surprised to see a verizon campaign especially since AT&T has dropped Tiger woods. This will be the most watched Masters in history with his return.

Maybe a commercial how it's incredible his wife didn't kill him and that b*tch (Tiger) can still golf

Haha I'm sure we could create more plays on that but I won't go of topic. B the way I was on testman for hours last night trying all types of potential URL landing pads for the incredible but no luck.

I wonder if Verizon realizes, that if they keep the name Incredible.....it'll just be ironic in a year. In 6 months, the Incredible will cease to be Incredible. (if it takes even that long)

Been lurking since the first leaked shots of of the Passion/Dragon/Desire/etc...etc...showed up. I'm still hooked even though it wound up being the N1. ( after spending some time with the N1...not a great phone....or should I say carrier). I like the rest of you am anxiously awaiting the Incredible. The N1 was certainly not what it was cracked up to be. Hopefully the 27th will bring us sweet Incredible Android goodness.

Naw, it will be like the Mytouch. They'll have a 1.2 version called the HTC NotsoIncredible.

Look i really hope the 27th turns out to be true..and i have NO reason to think Apang in messing with us. But having said that..has this been confirmed by anyone else yet? if not, lets stop referencing that date..just wishful thinking.

What didn't you like about the nexus one? The two devices are very similar.

Although very similar, the 3G coverage on TMO was mediocre at best. I also learned it was a hardware issue with the N1 and not all TMO's fault. Web browsing using wifi was very fast, but not when using 3G.

Really? I do. Anyhow I'm still waiting for CTIA for real info.

Regarding the early upgrade to a 3g smartphone for VZW customers that makes me think 2 things.. The dates are March 15-May 1st.

A. Verizon will be launching some nice smartphones (the Incredible and possibly others we don't know about?) during that time period and want to sign as many people as possible up to have big sales #s and move out stock of their older smartphones.

B. Verizon is trying to push out the current stock they have to make room for new smartphones this summer.

I hope A is correct (and I think it makes more sense).

For Reference:

We keep hearing from people that summer is going to be big. Big things this summer. I don't know what they could be.. I guess moto shadow? I hope the Incredible isn't delayed until then. But at the same time who do we keep hearing that from? CS reps. So I guess that should be taken with a dump-truck load of salt.

Might have been, but if so, it was probably on another channel as I believe the Masters do not allow commercials during their broadcast. Might have been just before it or after though, and with Tiger Woods rumored to be coming back to play in the Masters, it would be a big opportunity for a lot of people to see the ads. :)

Some good points, Kappy. When paired w/ other info we know, I think A makes the most sense. Combine the early upgrade promo w/ the BOGO deal and the 2.1 update and the Droid & Eris look pretty good. That gives VZW about 2 weeks to push these two phones before they usher in the next generation: the Devour and the Incredible.

I think we'll then see a significant March Madness ad campaign to generate excitement for the release of the Devour (3/25) & Incredible (3/27?), followed by 4 more weeks of the early upgrade promo.

From a marketing standpoint, it seems like a pretty logical way to satisfy Droid/Eris users, entice potential Devour/Incredible customers, and get a significant number of people signed to 2-year contracts before AT&T launches the next iPhone in June. Just my $.02.

The first round starts tomorrow. Verizon probably has the mentality of exposing their ads to the most amount of people, the first round is great for this. Who doesnt love following the first round upsets? I'd say its almost as popular as the final 4. However, you think we would have heard some inkling of a rumor about the potential ad campaign Verizon is launching...
