X2 I don't have msdtercard I have visa so right now I just use the google one... But it would be cool if visa did it too... I think the problem is that the pay pass technology is a master card thing.... Don't know for sure

I'm not clear on the complaints about this. Isn't it simply a matter of linking your visa card to the google card? That's what I did. Is it a resistance to pre loading? I haven't depleted the amount I have set yet, but when I do, I imagine that it'll be a matter of swipes and touches before I'm reloaded.

I do load the google card via my visa... But it would be cool if I didn't have to do that and it was just there linked to my bank and I didn't have to keep transferring money.... Unless there is a way you can? I dunno.... What is the first card for?? I can't figure out if I can use it or not

I don't have one yet so I can't say first hand but I was pretty sure you could add a credit card to your Google account in order to fund your purchases.

Nope -- I have the LTEvo, and and confirm that google wallet can only be linked with a Citi Mastercard credit card or the built in pre-paid Google one.
...I might just get a Citi Mastercard for this purpose.

Ewe, that sucks. I was planning to attach my Paypal debit card which pays me 1.5% cash back on ALL purchases instantly. I use that for most purchases for that reason and thought it would be perfect to attach to my Google Wallet account. If Google Wallet wants to be a viable solution and player in the payer market they need to allow users to attach their own means of payment. Prepaid is a PITA and I would only be using Google Wallet and NFC to make my life easier... not more complicated.

Looks like the only 3 are the Citi Mastercard... The Google card... And then an option to add gift cards... Doesn't look like you can add anything other than then gift cards... So ill just use the google one and load cash onto it.. Although a citi account just for transactions through Google wallet wouldn't be a bad idea.. Hmm... Going to look into it

So, fund the google card with your Paypal card, right? 1.5% back.
I'm still not getting it, guys. The google card is linked to my debit card. You can link it to any card you want. Is it that there is a middle man (google card)? Explain to me the benefit of having a heretofore unlisted card debited by NFC. I'm not trying to be obtuse; I really don't understand the complaint.

Go into add funds, and then add a card of your choice. It will remember your card, so adding funds in the future is super quick.

I guess that's what I mean. My debit card is linked to the google card because I've added funds to it.
I just went into the app. I clicked "add funds," selected my own amount ($999, the max it would let me do), then picked my debit card, as the information was saved. It was effortless.
The only issue I could come up with is why would I want 1000 bucks sitting on a card I'm probably not going to use and is now unavailable to me otherwise?
So, add fifty bucks. I'll eventually use it. If I went to a place and wanted to use NFC for a bigger purchase, I'd take the 2 extra steps and add funds. Don't even need my bank card, as the info is saved.

I don't want to load a bunch of funds that I can use for ANYTHING into an account that I can only use on certain things. I don't know if I will need two bucks or two thousand bucks and don't want to let all that money sit in a Google account generating interest for them. If they can make it take from a card with each purchase then I'm interested but as it's currently configured as a pre-pay deal I'm just not interested. I like to keep my liquid assets liquid and tying them up in something that doesn't make me any money makes no sense. Now, if they want to make it a low interest bearing money market I may be interested but I'm not going to just give Google a bunch of my money to sit on and make them money.

Well, that's kinda what I said.
Right now, this thing is for looking cool while buying a coffee at 7-11. As it matures, I'm sure they'll add your gold card to the list. Until then, put fifty bucks on it and show off your new phone.

just used google wallet for the first time at cvs. worked without a hitch. impressive...the cashier looked befuddled and said "that's cool". so glad it worked as advertised because there was a guy behind me and I did not want this thing to act up and embarrass me. owning an android super phone is like having kids.

Lol a friend from work was with me it was on our break...he was stunned..they all say the same thing..oh there must be hidden fees...its not secure.. blah blah blah..but after I properly explained how it works...and then when he saw it work first hand...he loved it...he ess actually mad bc the 3vo I just sold him doesn't have it lol

i want to try this. so is there a SPECIAL prop or something at the checkout that you wave the phone over? how did you know the store was compatible with NFC use?

You need to put in your pin in the Wallet app, to unlock it. You can do this while in line, by default it stays unlocked for 5 minutes. If the screen turns off before you use it, you don't need to go back in the app within the 5 minutes, just unlock the phone, and you are good to go. You are looking for a pay pass keypad usually. The top section of the keypad will have the nfc reader, just touch your phone to the top section, and should see it processing quickly after that.
