I'm not sure if this is incorrect or not. The explanation in the article for the 1Ghz vs. 786 Mhz Snapdragon speed reads as follows:

"Unlike the Nexus One, however, the CPU will be underclocked to 768 MHz (watch out for an Apple patent on that one). While that may sound like a bad thing, it should be more than enough speed to run most apps, while helping to providing longer talk time than the Nexus One."

It sounds as though earlier "clarifications" in this forum and the VZW source may both be correct. Have we accurately determined that it is impossible to clock a QSD8

Exactly. The QSD8250 is the GSM 1GHz Snapdragon.

EDIT: I meant to refer to woop's edit, but can't get it to post for some reason. Woop, you are right on as always.

So exactly what is the testman site for? Could the main advertisement spot in the middle of the page be gone because they are redo-ing something for the incredible?
 
Malcontent510, try searching for Stericson's posts within this thread (I believe there is a user-post search function? I remember someone saying they used it). There are some great tidbits of info that he shared. I also posted the screenshot of the internal phone memory, as well as the dump off the phone, a little before he joined, so look for that as well for clarification.

DroidAV8R, Woop and Stericson (by reference) - thanks a million. I am happy that the anecdotal confirmation we have heard continues to point to a more and more capable HTC Incredible. I'm excited to perform an unboxing-for-one and get this phone in my hands!

Long time lurker, new poster... I just wanted to say, EOL does not mean VZW will wait to release a phone. The last time I checked a couple of days ago, I could still buy the original Storm, and how long has Storm 2 been out? I'm just saying... Who knows for sure the release date, I am hoping for 3/27 or sooner as well. But one product does not necessarily affect another. Oh well, my .02.

Correct. EOL just means they will stop ordering new inventory of that phone, however it will still be on sale until it is completely phased out of their stock.

I'm game. I actually prefer the SLIGHT (emphasis on SLIGHT - please, no red backplates) red accents. Gives it a flare, and signifies that I'm rolling with VZW:cool:

I'm gonna vote no. I think it'll look like the last photos we've seen. The Desire is a beauty though.

I hope it doesn't look exactly the same. Granted the desire is a sexy phone but I think the incredible looks great and a little more masculine for some reason I can't articulate. I love the red accent, too.

I thought we already knew about the side USB vs. bottom...not sure if that's relevant to what you're saying...

I'll be honest, i'm only half paying attention... My girlfriend wanted to sit outside on the patio and have some wine and of course, i brought the laptop out here, so probably half-a$$ing both you guys and her...sorry! i'm trying...

(as if we needed wine BEFORE we go and have oodles of beer tonight!)
