If you were to do a Droid BOGO now on the Eris would you be able to exchange one of them later for the Incredible even if it's released after the Droid BOGO ends? I'd like to get my wife an Eris, but I'd exchange mine for the Incredible provided it can be done. We're on a family plan and both of our NE2's have been up for several months.

I think that is dependant on who you talk to and how high up they are.

and also incredible.

I imagine which ever one you paid for is the one you can return for exchange.

Technically speaking a quarter only needs to last 13 weeks. When does the 13th full week of this year start? The 28th.

Actually, and counting on a calendar was never a strong point of mine so you might want to check me on this, I get the 13th FULL week starting on the 21st, and the 14th Full week starting on the 28th. Since a quarter only needs to be 13 weeks long (I'm assuming that includes the 13th full week), the next quarter would start on the 28th...

Forgive me, it's been a long day, but how does this make the 27th more or less likely for a release?

I think you have the thickness of the iphone wrong (unless you are comparing it to the iphone 2g)

The iphone 3g/3gs is:
Depth:0.48 inch (12.3 mm) - from apple website
Not the 11.6 in depth that you used for comparison. Not a big deal but the incredible is actually thinner than the current iphone.

@TR: the original post has been edited/corrected. I shouldn't have relied on the sizeasy.com database. (I. Am. Lame. :o) Thanks.

You can exchange the Moto Droid...the Eris will be the Free one. 30 days...if you buy through Best Buy there's no restocking fee that Verizon will charge.
Do you actually have to activate the phone you wish to return? All I want to do is take the phone I purchased home, sit on it until the Incredible is released and then bring it back. I know it sounds underhanded, but at least I'm being honest about it. :)

You have to activate within 30 days or be charged full retail.

also with Verizon you have to have a phone active on your account in order to keep your account open, dosent matter if it's a borrowed phone or a dummy (fake they set up) for you.

When I say 13th full week I'm starting my count on Jan 3rd which gives you the first sunday thru saturday of the 2010 year. From there the 5th week on the 31st of jan and the 10th week on the 7th of this month.
If you go with the idea they want all sales in Q2 makes the 27th or 28th a more likely launch date.

...or, if we're counting from 1/1/2010, 13 weeks = 91 days. The 92nd day of this year is ... Friday, 4/2/2010. What?

Ahh...that make's perfect sense. Such an easy point and I don't even have St. Patty's day beer to blame...just a long-ass day at the grind and an obviously over-taxed brain:eek:

I asked about this on the verizon forums a while ago, and if you return only one of the two, it'll pretty much be like you never got the BOGO deal.

I've been catching up on this great thread over the past few days. I am very impressed with the HTC Incredible and I think it's safe to say I'm addicted at this point. I have a question about upgrading my current phone to the Incredible.

I am the primary account holder and I signed a one-year contract on 6/18/09. According to MyVerizon, I am eligible for "discounted pricing" on 4/18/10. My question is, assuming the Incredible comes out between now and then, what are the chances that I will be able to upgrade early?

Thanks!

if you current phone isn't a smartphone, very good.

I should have clarified that I currenty DO have a smartphone (Blackberry Tour).

As far as I know, it'll come down to how convincing you can be to whichever Verizon Rep you talk to. You could mention the early upgrade thing just to see if they'll let one slip by. Never hurts to try.

c'mon now, more info peopleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! :P

I've kind of given up on any kind of news before Friday. If we do hear something concrete about a release date or an announcement date on Friday it'll kind of be like a bonus, since its Friday anyway... And my vitally needed spring break starts Friday as well (I'm in law school :( ).

So lets pour a drink and wait for some news.
