***Official HTC Incredible Thread***

Now that it seems we're in the calm before the Incredible storm, I couldn't help thinking about how far Verizon has come.

I recall the not to distant past where the LG Voyager was the only top tier device we had to choose from. It was this fact that drove me to ATT and the iPhone (yes, yes, don't shoot me, it was all that was out there at the time).

Then in a shocking twist, Verizon, the normally conservative tight-a$$ of a company did the unthinkable and brought the Droid and gave us everything we wanted without the garbage. I absolutely loved the phone and only took it back due to the rumors of the Incredible (or whatever it was named at the time...passion?)

Not to get all mushy on you guys, but we are not only in a very interesting time for cell phones in general, but for Verizon as well.

I've been catching up on this great thread over the past few days. I am very impressed with the HTC Incredible and I think it's safe to say I'm addicted at this point. I have a question about upgrading my current phone to the Incredible.

I am the primary account holder and I signed a one-year contract on 6/18/09. According to MyVerizon, I am eligible for "discounted pricing" on 4/18/10. My question is, assuming the Incredible comes out between now and then, what are the chances that I will be able to upgrade early?

Thanks!

I was able to upgrade early in July when my daughter's phone broke but she was within a month of NE2. I initially went to a corporate store - they told me I had to call the 1-800#. I called right then and there and once approved, upgraded in the same store during the same visit (was a little irritated they made me jump through some hoops). When my internal screen cracked on my Voyager in early January (NE2 eligible 4/20/10), I called the 1-800# and tried upgrading but was told they would only allow an early upgrade within 30 days of NE2. I am thankful they did not let me upgrade to the Moto Droid. I have been lurking for a couple of weeks and am hooked on the Incredible. If I was advised correctly, I will be allowed to upgrade anytime after March 20. March 19 is looking very good right now (wishful thinking).

Ok, with the BOGO question... When you do an exchange you pay the DIFFERENCE in price of whatever model you return. If you BOGO'd for a free ERIS, the IMEI (Phone id #) will show the receipt number, showing you got it free, and you'll end up having to pay the full difference in price anyways. There is no point to rush into a BOGO to do an incredible exchange unless you are planning on keeping both devices AND the incredible.
PM any other questions.
Zach.

haha, so I wanted to try something out and chat with one of the CSR's for verizon online to have some fun. this is a shortened version of how the conversation went:

Me: Yes, I would like to place my order for the HTC Incredible
Me: I spoke with a rep today who had it and was instructed to place the order online
Me: problem is that I can't find it on the site
Katie: Yes, we are not offering that online right now

Chances are that I won't get it till I am in bed since its coming from someone that is 12 hours ahead from where I live.
Sorry to get off topic :p, but is there any way for you to get the "specs" sheet of the Motorola Shadow, and/or the Droid 2? Lol, sorry again for off topic :)

Alright... I know people are getting excited about apang's upcoming news but really... grow up a bit. This is a public forum.

Specs, shmecs. It's close enough. I only want release dates
Probably true. Still looking forward to what it says but it will be one of two things:
1. Specs that we have already been told, so nothing new but I suppose a further conformation.
2. Different from what we have heard, making each of them less assuring.

Have to agree that the release date is what I am looking forward to! I am already sold on the phone. Look forward to what your source has to say! Thanks apang
