Lurker
does anyone know how to connect my samsung galaxy s2 to MAC?

is there any usb driver that can connect SGS2 android to mac?

Thanks

It should just open up in Finder as a separate drive and you can drag/drop stuff into it. What version of the GS2 do you have?

I am running on android version 2.3.6

When i pluged my GS2 to Mac, it doesnt show any separate drive in Finder.

Anyone can help Me how?

There are two separate ways to do it.

1. Download and install Kies for Mac, hook your GS2 up to the computer, you can then transfer files to and from the device.

Transfer, Sync & Manage Music, Movies, Photos, Contacts and Calendars with Kies

Since Kies likes to give people problems you can also hook it up to your computer. You just need to enable USB Debugging.

On your GS2 hit menu / settings / applications / developer options and check the box to enable USB debugging. After enabling it, when you hook up your GS2 to the Mac it will prompt you to enable USB storage. Once enabled you can add or remove files on your internal storage or SD card with Finder on your Mac.

Thread moved to its support forum. There is where you'll find tips and info on this device. :)

I've read you need to be fully rooted to utilize apps like airdroid. Hear they have apps like iTunes where you can play around with the homescreen through the PC, but needs root for it. Not sure airdroid can do that much. But for normal transfer of files, works just as well.

AirDroid is damn easy to use, way fun and no root needed. Certainly faster than KiesAir.

It still has some bugs, given it's a fairly new app, like on GS2 it can't read external memory. But the forum says they guys are working on it now.
Other than that, it's so much nicer than KiesAir and so much faster.
All the mainstream functionality like photos, SMS, contacts, Music, Video, File transfer, folder explorer etc... no root required.

Best is, you can use AirDroid without cable, software and wifi even on ipads.
Just now I was showing my friend and he couldn't believe. I turn my Wifi tethering on, ipad connected without problem. Launched SAFARI, put the AirDroid IP, and it dumped the whole phone on the screen. Of course you can't save files but everything else works very well.

I use it to get files from clients, no longer take USB drive with me. Best part, as I said, works with every device. Just browser access, nothing else.

I will encourage you to check it out. I guaranty, you will like it. If not, Teh Tarik on me ;)

Seba,

Tried it (Airdroid) before. Have you ever used Itunes with iPad. Its pretty cool how you can manipulate the iPad screens using the PC but still need the USB. Can't do that without routing the S2. Currently.

One day though, someone is sure to figure a way to do it better. That's the thing about Android, always some cool stuff coming out. Anyway I don't use kies air since always have cable and PC with me. Airdroid is nice. Actually very nice as a replacement.

PS- Euro 2012 is starting. Won't mind the teh tarik with the footie... :)

I am only uncertain about posting this because eventually, after reading through a bunch of forums, i found android file transfer, and its not mentioned here at all. turned my galaxy sII into a browsable folder and I copied whatever i wanted to on the mac. Am I missing something?

Nope... not missing anything.

Android File Transfer is just another example of available apps for file transfers that you can find on google play.
