I have about decided that we all spend too much time worrying about these damn benchmarks and speed tests.
They do give us a methodology to quantify and compare and they are not completely useless. But, we are all over the world and there are too many variables to compare apples and oranges.
You can waste a lot of time screwing with PRLs and see no benefit, but it is fun for a while and some folks Will see verifiable improvement. Again, too many variables.
All these scripts can step on each others toes and slow stuff.down.
We all KNOW when our phones are running well and much is beyond our control no matter what we do. Especially with Sprint trying to get their network up to date and competitive.
If I can play a video over 3g with no lag that is an acid test for me. If I can multitask between 4 or 5 apps with no black screen, that is good. If Swype Beta can keep up with me without slowing me down while all this other stuff is happening that is great. Oh. Yeah , if I can listen to Stitcher Podcasts while multitasking that is good. Also, I never overclock over 800mhz. If I can do all this I don't care what the benchmarks say.
With all this in mind I cannot make much sense from the baseband speedtest.net tests that I have done but I know this.
Ej06 was a good one. I have had times with various Roms when I could do all that stuff I mentioned above.
FAwhatever was a piece of crap and never allowed any of that miraculous productivity to occur.
The new FE is a Good One. At least as good as EJ and I think it is actually better. I am back to being able to do all that stuff again. Maybe, not as often, but I still blame that on Boost.
But that is just my opinion and I could be wrong...
