This from CNET about VM and throttling speed

For 3G yes It's true but it's still a lot better than other services with a 2GB CAP. (I'm looking at you At$t and Verizon)

This is probably the tenth time I'm making this post. 4G IS THROTTLED AT 2.5 GB. YOUR TOTAL 3G + 4G DATA CANNOT EXCEED 2.5 GB BEFORE BEING THROTTLED. Sorry for caps.

what gets throtteled, 4g or 3g? It would only make sence for 4g to get throtteled down to 3g, I mean whats 3g gonna get throtteled down to. IMO 4g should have a limit and not 3g. It never did before. makes no sense,2g is ridiculous.

4g or 3g it doesn't matter. mixed use all figures into your 2.5gb. I know this for sure since I have called virgin on multiple occasions to confirm that 4g was included and they said yes, 4g is included in your data limit. case closed. no need to discuss this further

I had a chat with VM customer service rep and she told me the limits are 2.5gb for 3G and 10gb for 4G. I asked for a link to verify and she wouldn't provide me with one. When I called, they guy was clueless and basically stated that they don't throttle. I read a few different places online that the cap for 4G was 10gb. We basically will have to wait for people to push the limit and see what happens.

i won't hit 2.5gb in a month anyway - but while ICS has a data tracker - it doesn't track 4G. on VM website it appeared when the data tracker was working (currently down) it didn't track 4G usage. They may be updating their site now but it appears it may just be a shell policy for now in case they need to deal with abusers.

Considering that the Mifi and broadband devices are 10gb for 4G and 2.5GB for 3G, it would make sense that our soft cap on the phone would reflect the same.

It would except that Sprint/VM has contradicted that promotional info.

They have made so many miss-informed statements and bad promotional material that you need to take everything coming from VM for the last 2 months with a grain of salt. Sprint is making so many changes to them that I don't think anyone there knows what all is going on.

I'll be inquiring to my regional rep soon to verify. I'm wondering what she'll say. Anyone read the fine print on the new VM brochures?

I haven't yet, I need to brush up on my knowledge.

Personally, when I asked them on Twitter about this, their response was that 4G will not be throttled "at this time."

I have a feeling from that statement above that they are trying to get as many customers as they can first and then start throttling later on
