Help Recent Nova Launcher update causing screen reload lag?

Open nova settings, long press volume down. Go into labs, uncheck "preload widget layouts".

Is there a setting (and I know this is a custom ROM thing) to save your launcher in memory? (I could very well be confusing how it goes)
I know it was very popular with my Droid as it sped up the launcher and reduced redraws.
Cleaning cache also helps me out and I do this once every week or so. Haven't noticed any lag in Nova yet but I don't have an app/widget heavy desktop.

After trying out Nova and Apex free versions recently, I chose to live with Apex. Seems Apex is minority here but it feels smoother with more useful settings.
Nova is simpler and pretty fast but sometimes there is lag in flipping through screens. But I didn't see lag in screen reloading widgets on either launcher.

Yup I have noticed it too. It doesn't do it every time but it's just enough to bug me.

On one screen I have fancy widgets pro, another the calendar, and on another the power control.
It really only happens when switching screen orientation. You can see the widget reloading.
As as poster earlier in the thread, lots of people are seeing it.
I contacted the developer immediately after the update, that's where I got the info on how to correct it.
+ 1 on this working.
Before changing this, my 2 widgets would visibly "refresh" for a few seconds when going to/from portrait to landscape
But the above settings mod fixed it for me.
I've had redraw lag where it says "loading" in place of my widgetsoid widgets. On Nova 1.2. never had this before recently.
Funny, I have also been toying with the idea of switching to Apex. It seems more customizable than Nova, and it did immediately feel smoother. I'm setting it up now and will try it out for a couple weeks.

I switched from Apex to Nova because Nova has more gestures.
I did like that Apex could show the missed calls notification on the app drawer icon whereas Nova cannot.
Apex also still has the bug where when changing screen orientation from portrait to landscape the wallpaper will periodically shift to the right.
never heard of "v6 supercharger", however, it sounds promising. There is a long thread over on xda about it easily found by googling, for those interested.
ya, the uncheck in the labs menu stopped the "loading" from appearing... I mean it didn't speed up redraws, but it made them less annoying by not having to see the word "loading".
for a launcher to work well in landscape, it would have to be designed more carefully, "selective" rotation of portrait just doesn't cut it... need to have each homescreen completely re-customized for landscape, and to have each widget and icon specially catered for landscape... my02

on my last device, which was slower than molasses, it was necessity. i noticed a redraw on my home screen maybe once or twice with the GNex, and I was like, hey, V6 fixes that, and installed. no more redraws.
