Root [MOD] Data Governor Remover!

Now, everyone go to you settings/mobile data and click on it and report back. p-bOt, there are been issues with mobile data force closing. We're trying to figure out if its due to the governor being removed. Thanks for your help and all you do.

Yeah it's force closing in mine too :( but never have to go into those settings because the data enabler widget. A few posts up someone said that they flashed the black plague one over #2 and it didn't force close any more. Idk why but I'm sure it's because of the mod. Sorry guys :( idk how to fix it either except put the governors back on or use the data enabler widget.
 
I can make flashable zips to put the governors back on for all the ROMs if anyone would like. But for me personally a little force close is worth the more consistent data speed. Just let me know if anyone wants a flashable zip to put the governors back on tho I'd be happy to make some :)

Yeah that's a good idea I'll do that tonight after work. Thanks! I guess if the mobile data force closing will bother you then this mod is not for you!

But like I said...go to the market and search "data enabler widget" and you will find a few that can toggle data on and off at will without going into settings. I use the one by "Farproc" and it works great!
 
I haven'y had any issues with force closes or anything, but what I did notice was that when I first flashed it, the speed took a nasty tumble, but after that, everything was working fine :) thanks p-bOt!
 
Yup, my mobile networks was force closing too. But honestly, the mod didn't do anything for me. Speed test confirmed it for me. But the speed test is very unreliable so I dont go strictly off that. Now the scroll mod.....pfffff, like butter baby.

it seemed to work for me, when I'm at work before YouTube videos would always have a slight buffer after a while, after flashing the mod I haven't had any buffering

Guess Im lucky, Youtube never buffers for me.

At my house I get 1.3Mb consistent. I get out into town and im at 5Mb. That's why I say that unless it something MASSIVE done to the network, I think any mod's affects are just the natural network change. Or placebo, there's a lot of those out there. But if someone feels like their phone is better, then good for them. That's all that matters.

Yeah its crazy. Closer to the big city you get the better it gets. Im about the same outside the city but even 5 miles out and my network gets a lot better. Crazy it can jump up that much.

so far no issues on stock ROM been run it all day :thumbup:

speed in my coverage area is so ridiculously slow, that I didn't seem to notice any change. No issues under black plague that I could find aside from fc data setting. I'm still getting less than a mbps, and still timeout when sending large mms.

Was hoping u had a miracle, but great work nonetheless!
 
flashing another rom, and will try this agian..... maybe mix it with the 3g/4g data bootser... :-D

Dude I was hoping i had a miracle too lol. My data sucks as well either way but this mod did give me a tiny boost lol
 
ill give ya the same tip :D since all zvd roms use the same services.jar you can just use the same one to flash on all roms lol so sorry to say but you only needed to do this once lolol but nice work/find non the less

Haha yeah i knew that bro lol. I just didn't know if any of the devs had made any edits to the services.jar in their ROMs and if so I didn't want to override their work :D just being nice is all. This isn't a hard mod to make either way so I didn't mind doin it.

The only way to fix the force close issue is to put the governors back on or use a data enabler widget. Sorry :/ you have to make sacrifices man. If the force close issue bothers you I can make a flashable zip file that can put the governors back on if you would like? Just tell me what ROM you are on and I'll do it
