Root am I bricked..anything I can do?

Hey guys...my wifes phone's battery died, when we plugged it in, nothing happens..battery out, phone on charger...still nothing. this is a refurb evo from asurion, only rooted for like 2 months...the unrevoked problem couldnt have happened already...right??!?! might be time to play hardball with sprint and talk early upgrades..lol
 
Did this happen right when you rooted or sometime after? It could be a battery problem. I have had fantastic customer service unbricking my Flyer, so that could be a possibility (if they don't notice the root).
 
LOL, yeah...I just talked w/ customer service..said bring it to a store and see what they can do, if nothing..then they will put us on a "similar device"..my wife is tough..she may be able to get an upgrade out of em! LOL
 
Was a guy in here said he had same problem. He put his in the freezer for a while and then tried it. dry it off good before you put it in. I'm on phone or I'd find you the thread.
 
I can also give you the number for sprints customer retention, they'll most likely let you buy out the remainder of the contract. That's what I did for an early upgrade

Is that number widely available? Also do you have to "complain" or something to buy out the contract or just ask them to do it? O_O
 
Any sprint store will give it out. I'm sure its not under lock and key.

I just called and told them I busted my screen and would rather buy out my contract for $100 and buy the new EVO ($200) than pay the insurance company $100.

Got ya. You used your upgrade after you bought out your contract to get the new LTEvo correct? I forgot if you said you did or not in another post. Also, did you ever write up a review or just your thoughts on the new LTEvo? If so, PM me the link :) lol I'm still leaning way more to the SGS3 but I'm a sucker for Sense.
 
thanks rex..I spoke w retention earlier....but to fix the phone was very very simple..apparently with htc if the battery gets completely dead, there is a function in the phone that wont let it charge..fix was to put the dead battery in my phone (still had some internal juice) and charge it up enough to allow her phone to recognize it..and charge from there.
