So during this past week's buzz about the Incredible being released in two weeks, did anyone catch the following? From DailyTech - Sprint Gets Nexus One, Verizon Gears up for HTC Incredible:

"Leading the way is the HTC Incredible. DailyTech spoke with sources at Verizon, who confirmed that the HTC Incredible was supposed to begin to arrive at Verizon Wireless stores in two weeks."

Catch that? In all of my surfing, I had never seen the word "Verizon" linked with the word "confirmed" about anything yet! Maybe there's legitimate hope for us after all! :)

Yep, its back there amongst the pages.

Thanks to everyone who has responded to my earlier post. I really wasn't trying to get a reaction from everyone about this but I do appreciate the thoughts and prayers. It has been and will continue to be a tough battle as her cancer is very rare.

I want to keep this thread on-topic so............gimmee the incredible.:D

Man if you think Verizon is tight lipped look at apple. One of the company's overseas that does some of there production stuff. A dude was just taking pictures of the company and they beat the ever loving crap out of him. He was a news guy just talking about the factory. They take there security very serious. There are mutliple story's that are worse than that with apple.

hmm... i didn't see that one... that allegedly has a vzw confirmation and the correct speculated specs. I wonder if that is for real or they are just quoting our sources. I'm thinking the former. :D

ok off to bed. 2.5 hours of work in the morning... catch you all in the am... good job on getting more info guys!

That's exactly what we were talking about on whatever page that happened to fall on - if we are the internal VZW source because of some of our contributors.

I posted this last night, but that's why I reached out to berryscoop (that broke the inventory screen shots) to check with their Verizon sources. They still say around the beginning of April, coinciding with the EOL for the Eris.

We've talked about this so many times on here, but I am wondering what the percentage is of Verizon employees that claim or actually have no clue this device is coming? I don't know whether to be concerned about that or not.

Here's my two cents: I work for a biotech company and am in sales. Not only do I know the products that my company currently has on the market, I also know what's in the pipeline. I would hate to have a customer inform me of an upcoming product from my company that I had never heard of before. That's the best way to lose credibility, IMO.

I realize that it is two totally different industries, but sales is basically sales - whether it's cars, biologicals, or cell phones.

So here's what I think:
1) they don't care
2) they're FOS
3) they're oblivious

I would tend (or hope) to believe there are some great sales people with VZW that do their homework. Anyone else see a disconnect?

- Sorry for the rant. This just came on the heels tonight of my buddy telling me he had to tell his VZW corporate rep of the existence of the Incredible - my buddy had no idea about the phone until I saw him posting last week that his corporate rep was going to hook him up with the N1. His corporate rep had finally called him today to confirm what we've been saying all along - no N1 in VZW stores.

They really are two totally different industries. Here's how fast things happen in the wireless industry. Verizon decided to reduce its unlimited calling plan rates by 30%. VZW made an announcement in the morning and by the end of the same day AT&T had announced matching reductions. In this particular instance news of the rate pricing change was leaked ahead of time and this gave AT&T time to prepare matching plans. Some of the advantage VZW hoped to gain from the change may have been lost. I actually had customers come in and see the new plans only to assume we were matching AT&T instead of the other way around.

So obviously there are people within the company who know exactly when this new phone is planned to launch. Some of them no doubt know the exact specs as well. But they are well up the chain of command and they will rightfully guard this information carefully. So if a B2B rep or a retail rep or any other VZW employee tells you they've never heard of the Incredible, its not because they are oblivious, or uncaring, or full of it. Its because the company simply hasn't told them anything about the phone yet.

Going back to the actual name of this device for a sec. It would be funny if they did name it the Dragon as that would better explain the red internals.

...wishful thinking...I know.

Kind of along the same lines as what I was saying about "company policy" (even if they DID know, they might not be allowed to talk about it....for the reasons you mentioned, namely competition....)

Wireless Open Development program and a variety of partners demonstrate exciting new products that are now Verizon Wireless network-ready.

Verizon Wireless Focuses On Efforts To Ensure That Its LTE Network Will Be The Largest 4G Network In The Nation

I dont wanna read to much into this or have no idea what "Wireless open development program" is. But just posting it for those that have more of an idea than I do.

Also I've never seen anyone post something from news.vzw.com so maybe this is something can look at for any hints in between now and CTIA?

I know I'm a new member here, so my word is not as reputable as I'd like it to be...however, I work in the wireless industry as well, and I can confirm this is 100% correct.

If there is anything that irritates me, it's when your average consumer assumes that sales reps or CSRs are terrible human beings who don't care about their jobs, are not "doing their homework" or are lying to customers.

It's just that the wireless companies we work for like to give us brand new information at the last second.

Change is the epitome of our job description. Things are constantly being swapped around. Just my two cents, I suppose.

Thanks a lot. I was looking up info on the HTC Incredible tonight (trying to discover which to get, Droid, Nexus One or Incredible), and happened to stumble upon this thread..

Now, all thanks to the info provided, I'm 100% positive I'm going for the HTC Incredible. I'm pumped! :D

A thought just occurred to me. I read (some hundreds/thousands of posts back) about the HTC Touch Pro 2 dual booting Windows Mobile/Android. Has anyone given any thought or seen any discussion about whether or not the Incredible may be capable of the same thing?

Ok, before starting in with "Why would you...." ... simple answer, to see if it's possible. I'll likely be consumed with immersion in Android but it would be interesting to be able to dual boot it.

I don't see why not, but the ability to do so means that an expert over at xda would cook a custom rom and that takes time if I am not mistaken. I am sure others will chime in.

I returned my Droid Eris yesterday at my local VZW store, and the manager scolded me for returning it and because I said, I'll wait for something better. "Next time you purchase a phone, think hard and long about if you want it," he says.

I think he's just mad because he knew the Incredible is coming haha

I would tell him to think long and hard weather or not he wants to keep me as a customer. Scolding me about a return policy that VZW created that does not effect him should be a no no. Especially as he is the Manager?
