Help MT won't boot or enter recovery...

Stock Motorola Triumph:

If I boot (pwr button) or boot recovery (hold vol + and -) it hangs at the Motorola logo vibrating continuously. I tried replacing the files in the image folder with CWM, stock files, but nothing changes.

I don't know how to diagnose further, but I'm guessing it's hanging before loading the recovery.img or boot.img.

VM is sending a replacement phone but a couple issues:

Is there anyway to backup applications or data to get back up on new hardware quickly? I never rooted the phone or backed up anything (BAD BOY! lol, I know). I'll root it and use Titanium backup when I get the replacement.

Is there any way to get a boot log or info on where it's hanging?

Try to make sure you are not changing the file names. No spaces (common) or changing the letter case. The partition may have been corrupted. I have only seen one guy smart enough to work that out. There are different ways to do it depending on which phone you have. I would start with the file name and maybe try a fresh download that can be verified with a checksum of some sort.

I think I may have bricked my MT :( I did the cwm recovery thing and CM7 a few months ago. Found out I didn't care for it much so I reverted back to the stock. But lately my phone has been rebooting out of nowhere all by itself. So I thought it may've been from me modding it. So today after it reboot itself I decided to "try" to take off cm7 & cwm recovery. I deleted everything and tried starting from scratch as to make it 100% stock. I did save everything before I did it to my comp, but now I don't know which order or where things go or how they go! I can't boot my phone or get into download mode, it just vibrates! I've tried alot of different things, like putting stock rom winrar file on, thats to big to fit even with nothing at all even on my phone. I tried putting clockworkmod back on, nandroid backup, recovery img, splash, shortcut recovery all of these things in all sorts of combinations... I am sooo newb to this, someone PLEASE help me!? I feel so lost without my phone :( & its only been a few hours!

Can you access the boot image files? Hold down the lower volume button and then without releasing it, push and hold the power button. Your phone will have some text that says "polling". If so, your boot image can be replaced. Afterward, you should be able to boot into recovery (CWM) and install a b_randon's stock ROM.

Note: If you get into polling; you'll need to remove the battery to get out of it.

If you can get into polling mode (boot image); PM me...

Fix:
1) Replace the boot image (files); [low vol + power key], then connect the USB cable.
2) Place b_randon's stock ROM (Stock_ROM_SplashImage_b_randon14.zip) on your SD card
3) Boot into CWM Recovery [vol up + vol down + power keys]
4) Flash the stock ROM from the zip file on your SD card

The flash also replaces the splash.img and recovery.img files so you end up with a stock phone with a OS similar (some might argue exactly) as when it was taken out of the box new.

Going back to stock your probably generating huge logcat files, that's why you have no internal storage left and are getting random rebooting. You have to be rooted to be able to delete them or do a factory reset every 6 months or so.

Guys,
I was trying to go back to stock for PRL update because wifes phone next time mine does not get signal. I was hoping an update would help. Yes, I have ready all stuff on PRL's
Anyhow, could not restore back to stock. Tried following this guide, and not I only get the android restore screen(triangle with !). I can get to download mode and see image, tried to put on original image and no luck...Should I restore cwm image to see if will boot. Any ideas, and what files should be in the image file? Should I overwrite? Thanks for help in advance.
