Yes, that's what it means. Sorry, I should have been clearer in my post. I hope it's the Incredible too but it could be the Supersonic.

But would the Supersonic warrant being up for an award seeing as how it doesn't seem that anyone has even seen it? By all accounts nobody has even heard of it being tested yet or going through the FCC. Would a product in that state be up for an award? Now on the other hand, HTC/Verizon could submit a finished product version of the Incredible and based on the specs we've heard it would certainly be award worthy.
 
Been lurking here since around p30, and finally jumped into the fray!

To clarify an embargo release:
- The full info [press releases, pics, specs, release dates] have been sent to analysts, press, etc to let them prepare their coverage. This material cannot be published until the time and date specified in the embargo, which is usually co-incident with the formal announcement.

On the 'is it real' & Supersonic conjecture:
The various pics/renderings etc are useful, but the clincher is the video showing the Inc booting with the VZW splash screen. That pretty much nails it IMHO.

This forum is crack, but the Inc looks like its worth every minuted burned here.
 
The HTC incredible does not exist..

This has been a conspiracy done by the government.

those "HTC incredible" testers were just giving prototypes of things that never will exist..

There minds will be wiped by the government as soon as this all ends.
 
Just to kill some time and make you think while we wait for some news.

Should we wait for the incredible if it turns out to take longer than we thought... or just go for the N1 so we can move on with our lives?

Get ready guys. This week is going to be a VERY exciting one. I think Verizon has kept a very impressive phone hard under wraps and they are about to unwrap the package. I believe this phone is going to even far exceed our expectations and theories as to how truly incredible it will be. I can't wait for Monday and Tuesday!

By the way, I would definitely say that the embargoed device is the Incredible. With such secrecy, Verizon must have something really big planned and this phone must really be going to live up to it's name. Just my two cents.
 
The HTC Incredible will talk about its award in the media center which so happens to be sponsored by Verizon and Skype.

Nashdroid you are a voice of logic, lol....I agree wholeheartedly, Verizon has stated in the past that they have the best network, and they will soon have the best smartphones. I can't see a company like this sit back and watch T-mobile, ATT, and Sprint pickup top of the line HTC android 2.1 phones...

VZW is going to drop this phone on us on Tuesday with a PR, and its going to blow everyones mind...and easily take the CTIA Product of the Year Award...IMHO
 
basically all we know is that HTC is nominated for a CITA E-Tech award for Phone/Smartphone and they simply chose to not publish which product that is.
 
Are you guys feeling a vibe right now? Cuz i sure am. The past couple of posts have been incredibly positive as far as vzw and the incredible PR are concerned. Lets keep it up!

yeah. And I am not sure how they can win an award for a phone no-one has seen?! So it is prob'ly for something else.
 
Honestly, I've always felt this confident about this phone. Since we heard that it was going to be called the Incredible I just KNEW that Verizon was too reputable and too intelligent to just make it an Eris replacement.

Another reason is that it is a VERIZON EXCLUSIVE. Do you guys know how big of a deal that is? It's really maybe the first time that HTC has done this. This isn't a version of the Desire, like the Eris was a version of the Hero. The Incredible is a stand-alone device that is different than every other phone that HTC makes. That's a new thing, as far as I know. So, as soon as I knew that I just knew good and well that this phone was going to be something very special.

I've kinda just sat back and not posted much lately while there was some negative talk about the phone and that it might not be what we think it will be and blah, blah, blah. Just remember though, this is something very special. The Motorola Droid was something very special too, but even it had a European counterpart, the Milestone. So, the fact that the Incredible is a one-of-a-kind unit specially created for Verizon Wireless...well, that just should tell you right there that this thing is going to be something game changing. I believe that wholeheartedly.
 
It's Sunday. We have 2 days until CITA. Everyone please be supportive as many of us will stress with anticipation (or lack of sleep due to this thread) over the next two days.

Keep attitudes in check. Be Positive. Be Incredible.

The judges will get to spend plenty of time with the Incredible. They'll get to see it tomorrow and they will have till the 24th to decide if it is the winning phone or not. HTC wouldn't have embargoed a device that everyone already knows about. That wouldn't make any sense at all. It's a phone that hasn't officially been released yet and they embargoed the product so that the name wouldn't be released yet in the documents that are made available prior to CTIA. If it's not the Incredible, it's another HTC device that no one has officially seen yet. I think it's the Incredible though. I'd even bet some cash that it is.

Really? Are people really going to lose sleep over the announcement of a phone? It's just a phone, people, you really should relax and learn to enjoy life. Sure, it will be cool to find out exactly what the phone is and who will carry it, but I'm not going to spend time worrying about it before then.

IDK who is going to lose sleep lol...but I think everyone is just really excited...some of us have been waiting for close to 6 months for this phone, and now we are close to its official announcement, many of us are overcome with excitement. Losing sleep, probably not, but watching tech blogs and this forum all day from monday to wednesday, definitely.

Have you seen how many pages long this thread is? haha Of course we're losing sleep over this phone. Not only that, but some of us are maybe even losing our minds over this thing!

On a serious note: We're just having fun and this is a hobby for a lot of us. Phones and technology are important to me, and I'm sure most of us really value our phones because they are a link to the rest of the world and we can put it right in our pocket. We're all very excited about this phone, and I think that's just fine. Even if we're losing some sleep, it's all in good fun and I'd rather all of these people be in here posting in a forum than out doing drugs or cheating on their wives. So...don't rain on our parade. We're having a good time. :)
 
Sure its "just a phone". The thing is though - its this whole process/experience. You start by just looking for a replacement phone which is just a bit of reading. Find your way here, and end up consumed by this forum as well as the phone and its release. You get to the point wherre every time you get a free minute, you are looking for any bit of information you can find. Its kind of a crazy obsession ...:rolleyes:

A "crazy obsession" is right! I don't know about the rest of you guys, but recently I have literally found myself seeing this damn phone in my dreams!! :eek: How crazy is that?!?

I'm sure the judges have had plenty of time with the unknown HTC device but like you said everyone has been banned from talking about it. Which I believe has to be the Incredible. And IMO it will have to be officially announced before the awards ceremony. So I really believe we'll know what the device is before Wednesday.
