O.o. thats weird. What I did was I extracted the system file from the zip and moved it onto my sdcard. Used root explorer to goto my sdcard and copied the WHOLE system folder that I moved on there and then I went to the root of the phone where the /system folder is and paste it directly in there no problem, If you keep getting problems try re-downloading and reapplying. Other then that maybe someone else knows.

Step by step of how I bricked my phone:
1) Downloaded said ZIP file.
2) Extracted said ZIP file.
3) Placed extracted System folder from ZIP on SD card.
4) Copied the contents of the bin folder from ZIP to root /system/bin
5) Continued that trend for all the directories in the system folder from the ZIP.
6) Rebooted phone.
7) Brick.

The way i did it personally was:

1) Downloaded ZIP file.
2) Extracted system folder to sdcard ZIP file.
3) Copied the WHOLE system folder from the ZIP to root of the phone where /system is located
4) Rebooted phone.
5) Enjoy beats.

I dont see how doing the first one went wrong.. also i used the app "Root Browser" but i highly doubt that matters..

yea, that is the exact zip I used, I linked it in the thread it says I believe it is this one: thats the one I used.

Must be my mistake and I missed the direct link or I was looking at an earlier version of the post.

Thanks.

Bricked mine as well...Uh OH....hmm now how to get back..

I'm not sure we can just yet.. I don't get how it is bricking other phones.. I hope ktb didn't try it as well.

Nah.. I'm not going to try something like this until we have a CWMR working or a way to get into fastboot.

How bad are these bricks? Can any of you get into download mode or connect with ADB?

Can we repush the tot file from download mode via lgpst?

Edit: nope it is looking for a bin file

They can get download mode and recovery mode. Factory resetting is doing nothing and if you push the tot while in download mode you get back but your data will be down. That's as much as I know

In download mode, LGNPST is only coming up in emergency mode and and you cannot select the TOT file to upload, only a .bin file

But if you really want to when it's asking for a bin type *.*and it will allow you to pick a tot... But be warned data will not work. You will be stuck without data

I've notice some file managers don't properly copy some files into the system partition. When I used to mess around with my rooted OV trying to copy files into our out of the system it would look like they copied but didn't. I have a feeling something isn't copying correctly. I have found the best program for root is Root Browser Lite as I have never had it not copy or delete something.

I'm with ktb83... Until we get recovery and can make NANDROID backups I'm not gonna mess with too much. No way as of yet to fix em..

Out of curiosity, do you know what causes it to lose data connect?
