[Verizon] ICSourcery V3.4.2 Release Thread

Been using this since Friday. I bounce between Liquid and AOKP normally. This is really well done. Nice job. Sourcery Tools is a cool touch.

Thanks,

EVERYTHING works!! What more can you ask for? Like my laptop running UltimateEdition 3.2, a ton of stuff to choose from and all of it is useful! Plus the added bonus of eye candy so you actually enjoy using it...Many Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!
No hicups...no bumps, Just a smooth running rom

Went over there to d/l. Didn't even understand what was meant by after you install this go over there and install that? Where's the rom link?

Snapcase, I have not seen the pulldown lag when downloading anything... would love to hear if anyone else has experienced this.

Never tried long pressing the back button to get the history before, so can't comment, other than it definitely doesn't work on our rom currently :)

I just loaded the dolphin browser and when I single click the back button I get the dialog box to exit. What other apps do you use a long back press to access anything? Want to try a few out and have the devs look at it.

Thanks for the feedback!

Those two apps are the only ones I can think of that use long presses on the nav buttons. There are most likely others, but I don't know of them personally.

The dialog you get when you use the backbutton in dolphin (all tabs need to be closed so you're at the quick dial screen), is a little different from the long press dialog box. The big part of the convenience is that you don't have to close all your tabs first, so it saves quite a few clicks to be able to just hold one button and have the app kill itself + wipe your selection of data (cookies, history, etc.).

Would certainly love it if there were a workaround for it, but I can understand if that's not possible.

Got into a convo with the dude at the corporate vzw store. I told him who I was. "That famous moderator from Android Forums. :p" and we got into it about roms and phones, etc. He apparently comes to AF a lot. :)

He told me that sorcery is written for a single core, not a dual core. I was surprised and sure he was mistaken, because it was compiled for the vzw gnex. I was confused, not being a super programmer, just a super moderator, Guide Leader. :p

Can anyone set me straight on this? I'm assuming it's not true. Help me here.

Sincerely,
S58

I wrote a script to show my CPU utilization separated by cpu0 and cpu1.
Both are in use.

You can see it too if you have busybox. Run the top command, when it starts, hit c.
If it was only written for single core, I would assume only one would be used

what i see is that a guy at verizon had heard of our rom thats cool!!!!!!1

other than that i would never trust a word that guy says as he has no idea what hes talking about. :)

he may be referring to old sourcery for the original droid? dont know. but trust me the kernel is built for multiple cores and im not smart enough to shut 1 off :)

quick note, new Theme engine themes added to our toolbox.
Cobalt themes by Dustinb17

Cobalt, Cotton Candy, Crimson, Gunmetal, Kiwi & Purple...

no idea... Taken this quote from Dustins playstore thread

CM9 THEME
PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE LEAVING REVIEWS.
THIS THEME IS FOR HDPI AND XHDPI PHONES ONLY.
ROOT needed and a custom ROM like CM9/AOKP needed that supports the Theme Engine.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Download the theme, go to settings/themes and APPLY THE SYSTEM THEME AND REBOOT. Now select my Theme & apply. You may get an error: 'Sorry, this theme is missing assets for your device's screen size'.
Ignore that and apply it anyway and REBOOT.
The lock screen and some system dialogs cannot be themed in the T-Mobile Theme Engine, therefore they will remain unchanged.
Cobalt is Primarily a Blue theme that is vastly different than stock ICS

Thanks. Some of the themes have some pretty cool animated notification bar icons.

Newness abound... word from Devortex...

Ok, linaro build and new toolbox 3.0 are up in the ICSourcery Toolbox. The linaro rom is under Rom Updates, you should probably do a full wipe (truthfully, I didn't coming from 3.4.2 and it worked fine). Toolbox can be found under "extra apps", not sure what will happen when it tries to update itself over itself. someone post back after you try it :).

The new toolbox allows you to update the softkeys on TMobile themes the same way it updates for standard themes

Make sure that if you load the linaro build, don't use any of the standard sourcery themes. The t-mobile themes will work just fine, but I'm not going to be responsible when you are cast into some hideous creature after attempting to load one of the current 3.x themes on the linaro build. I'm not kidding. terrible things happen when you don't listen to what the dev is telling you. I could have snuck a locked bootloader in there if you attempt to install a theme. then you'll have to pay me a bunch of money for the key to unlock your phone again.....

Edit: I'm serious about the toolbox. no one tested updating it in this way, since Eagle is on vacation, I figured I'd just try it :). I can't test it since my toolbox is my dev version and signatures don't match and all that. So please post back the results if you try to update the toolbox via the toolbox.

A dirty flash (wipe dalvik and cache) plus flashing gapps again works fine (perhaps I didn't need to re flash gapps, just resign in with google?).

Additionally, the new toolbox just flashes over itself. The first one closes and the new one re-requests root and you're in, fine.

Can I use any old kernal with linaro or do I need special ones? Or are some of the linaro optimizations part of the kernal programming itself?

FYI, kernels are updated

I will go look at LK maybe later, But...
With all the commotion on JB, I'm kinda happy I did not get caught up in it. Keeping Sourcery for a quite a while longer...can't fix what isn't broke. and your team seems to keep improving on it, Way Cool!
...Digging 3.5:) a lot... Thanks for making me able to make my phone truly Mine :congrats:
