C'mon $150? How about C'mon $499.
When I got into the whole "how to exchange my incoming SGS3" thing that I posted on earlier, I asked them the pricing for the phone. I know they said it would be $199 with an instant $50 rebate for online, $199 and $50 mail-in rebate for Telesales & in store, & I believe it was $499 for retail.
I was surprised because I figured it would be $450 like the Incredible 2. I know some on here were speculating $550, but with the SGS3 in 32GB getting $650, they'd be hard pressed to ask only $100 less for the Inc4G. Especially considering Samsung's retail prices are usually quite a bit higher than their competitors (seem to recall the Fascinate on Verizon being $100-$150 higher than the OG Incredible or Droid X back in 2010).
So, we should see something on Verizon's site before the 4th and then hopefully the speculation can end. It's really kinda sad that there is still speculation right up until a few days before the launch of Verizon's HTC phones. You don't usually see this happening with their Moto & Samsung phones. But no matter how successful their HTC phones are they seem to be treated as the third phones company by Verizon. I remember when shopping for my first smartphone (spring of 2010) that I was seriously considering the HTC Touch Pro2 (Winmo). The only problem was you couldn't find it in a Verizon store, so there was no trying it out in the store. The saleslady mentioned that most of the time they didn't carry HTC phones in store, because they weren't as popular. The only one in the store was the Eris, and while looking at that to get an idea of the build quality, a very helpful salesman informed me that a more powerful version of the Eris was just around the corner (I was also considering a Storm2 at the time). He mentioned that the best all around smartphones they had were these android phones that had come out the previous fall and they had a new crop supposed to be coming out late spring through the end of summer. After that I found Android Forums while looking for info on this new HTC android phone about to come out, and the rest is history.
So you see, at one time Verizon store employees were knowledgable and helpful. He could've made a sale that day, but knew a better phone was on the horizon, and made that info available. Before the Incredible came out, I was almost looking at getting an OG Droid, because I wasn't sure I could handle a phone without a physical Qwerty keyboard, but I also didn't like buying a phone that was already 6 months old. Glad I waited. And now I wait again.
