With the new "app" for BB users that will allow PTT, does anyone think the Google marketplace will get an app like that? Would that even work on the Incredible? That would be kinda cool (if it were free to d/l and use).

That's what I need. I'll be at a bar and my wife PTT's me and on the speakerphone asks me to pickup tampons on my way home. ;)

A friend had nextel for awhile and PTT sounds like a good idea for business people but it didn't make much sense for him. Well, other than the fact he could PTT other people on nextel, but he couldn't make a phone call to any phone because the network was garbage.

I never liked the force speakerphone usage with it.

How can HTC be listed with the device on 1 page and then where it allows you to vote it's not there? I bet it appears after it is announced. That's the only reason I can come up with.

Problem with that is until it's announced all of the others are getting a big leg up on it.

Anyone else think the Dell Aero Android phone going to AT&T looks like crap? Talk about stale looking design. I suppose we shouldn't expect any better from Dell given how boring their computers are as well.

And, if HTC isn't on the list, may be they are still in the process of updating it and will replace it with the actual device, not htc embargo device or whatever it was. MEANING, we have an HTC Incredible Warning (The HTC Incredible is imminent, it is going to happen or is happening :D).
I just hope it's not replaced by a page that says "This was only a test. In the event of a real Incredible announcement, the tones you just heard would have been followed by further instructions. We now return to your regularly scheduled foaming at the mouth."

Okay HOLD everything up.

The site posted yesterday for the CTIA E-Tech awards had the FINALISTS. There were 5 phones or so and the HTC embargoed device was one of them.

WTH are we looking at now then that has like 8-9 devices? Is that the same thing or something different? The e-tech awards were finalists and the HTC embargoed device was one of them so it's a finalist!

I'm confused

Okay, I think I got it. It appears there are two categories for winners.

A. the one the HTC device is a finalist for. Voted on by, well I'm not sure, but not everyone. I guess certain judges.

Then there is....

B. "BEST ONLINE PICK AWARD" Which everyone can vote online for. I can only think the HTC device isn't there yet because it hasn't been announced yet. After it is, I am sure it will show up. But yes, it is losing ground for that award.

Ok so I've had my upgrade for over a month now, but b/c of the Incredible I haven't made the upgrade. I just found out that through the end of today Walmart is selling with and upgrade the Droid for 19.99. Although b/c its through Walmart, the return policy is 15 days. What do you guys think? Any one hear anything recently about an Incredible release date?

Hm, what else? But of course, the big green robot. Android is all the rage now and we will not be surprised to get our hands on new Android-based handsets for the major carriers. We expect to see the official announcement of the HTC Incredible for Verizon and truth be told, we suppose it will prove to be an awesome device with huge AMOLED display, 1GHz Snapdragon processor (possibly downclocked to 768MHz) and 8-megapixel camera. Sounds monstrous.

B/C it is :D Kickin' @ss and takin' names!

I found the following definition of "News Embargo" in layman's terms, for those who are curious:

A News Embargo is a request by a source that the information or news provided by that source not be published until a certain date or certain conditions have been met. The understanding is that if the embargo is broken by reporting before then, the source will retaliate by restricting access to further information by that journalist or his publication, giving them a long-term disadvantage relative to more cooperative outlets. They are often used by businesses making a product announcement, by medical journals, and by government officials announcing policy initiatives; the media is given advance knowledge of details being held secret so that reports can be prepared to coincide with the announcement date and yet still meet press time. In theory, press embargoes reduce inaccuracy in the reporting of breaking stories by reducing the incentive for journalists to cut corners in hopes of "scooping" the competition.
