I was wondering whether there are any plans for the LG spectrum to receive the 4.1 update at any point in time? I'm not asking about a particular date but rather just in general. thanks

LOL...because I'm a newb...maybe one day I will receive an honest answer? :) I can hope right?

I think the nonconformists are usually the first to burn aren't they? Jk! Glad the glass is half full for you! Sparks hope in the rest of us. Before the spectrum I was in the samsung continuum. The joke was it was the first to be discontinuumed

I think I may join ya there, but I'll probly keep my spec. The price on the Nex will drop a ton when the Nex. 3 is released.

I really like my spec and don't want to get rid of it, and I actually like more things about the spectrum than I do about the nexus. My thing is just the thought of jelly bean is super appealing. I've watched some reviews and it's simply amazing and even makes ics look slow. Funny thing is my spectrum is running super smooth right now since I flashed back to eclipse. I just ran v6 super charger as well to see if I can get an added boost.

Running b.o. w/ blitz under clocked to 1.296 w/ lagfree runs real smooth and seems t I get better battery than 1.8 w/ conservative gov. You should try it....ty mrB.

admn81, I don't know you bother emailing big companies because you are never going ot get a straight answer

Yup. I ran a customer service department for a large corporation for 10 years... Very rarely will they offer information that is not already publicly released. If there's no official press release, don't expect to get a solid date/answer.

The spec just isnt worth much second hand, if I actually got value in return i would def go for a nexus. I'm hoping ICS is around the corner but I wont hold my breath

i don't know what you base that off of but they are selling for 200+ on ebay all day long. And ICS will be out soon.

I would hold off for the next nexus. If JB is coming this year, I'd expect a new nexus by thanksgiving.

I have not heard who won the bid for this one, but HTC and Motorola were both fighting for it.

The official nexus device for jelly bean is the galaxy nexus/nexus 7. Google already stated it.

Hence why they 'Re-launched' the Galaxy Nexus.

The Nexus 7 will be the only device shipping with Jelly Bean.

Like I said, I'd wait for the next one... It is not worth buying another old tech phone, just for an OS upgrade.

Referring to the generation of chipsets used in the phone.

you're just an s4 fanboy finndo :p

jk man, I know what you are saying. But my point was if I sold my spec for 200 and then bought a nexus for say, 275, or so, then to me the nexus would be worth 75 dollars. JB just runs so amazingly smooth it's crazy. I don't know if you've watched any YouTube videos for it, but it's has no lag at all. Even the scroll and pinch zoom in the browser is perfect. And for what I currently do with my phone the tech we have now works perfectly fine. The only time I notice a need for extra processing power is while installing an app (which literally only takes a couple seconds). During the installation of an app I always notice my phone lags or stalls while trying to perform a separate process. I actually think this could be solved with a proper software update which would allocate one core for the app installation and the other core for your real-time use.

I've actually decided to do the same thing, I will be selling my Spec once I find a good deal on a used galaxy nexus. Sad to let my Spec go so soon but I've had gingerbread for over 2 years now coming from a droid incredible-thunderbolt-spectrum. Plus the dev community for the nexus it outstanding. Anyone need a mint Spec with case?

We sent you this one-time welcome message because you recently purchased a Nexus S phone.

Anyone else get this email?

Yea, my buddy didn't get one either. I wonder if someone tried to register their phone with my email address?

Weird. I think I'm going to contact Google, just in case. No weird charges to my accounts, but that's peculiar.

You know when I think about how we had a inside source with this dev and how it was ruined by whiners and complainers it makes me furious. Whining and complaining to the point the thread was asked to be pulled, who knows by now we might have had a leak of Jelly Bean or source code for ICS.
So to those that whined and complained, THANKS!

Whoa whoa whoa... if he would have been honest and straight forward and provided the proper tools to use the leak things would have been different. From what i read he released a leak that bricked a bunch of phones because he wouldnt give up the proper tools to flash the leaked ics...my understanding anyway. That claimed the device of atleast one of our devs and set a couple others back a while as they tried to get their phones functioning again. I personally did not touch nor was i going to and didnt really get involved......just my .02

It was the individuals risk, as with all leaks, the leak was provided, not their place to provide tools to use it with. Yes there was a bit too much whine and complaint. There was good reason for it, but blame should have never been pointed at the leaker. We all know how this goes, and I'm sure many of you have tested leaks in the past. The fault there lied within the individual. Hell, I even tested and zero'd my IMEI, got a refurb, no ones fault but my own. The leaker pulled for that reason, and that was a bit harsh as well, they know that kind of shit would happen. If it were me in the place, I would of kept leaking, others being uninformed about how to use what isn't my problem or place to resolve. I would be a provider, nothing more, nothing less.

Why are you commenting about this now? This is old news. Your comments don't really help expedite the process of getting source or ICS for that matter. I DO GET where you are coming from by by saying this, but I mean we are going to get ICS soon regardless, and also odds are we will never see an official JB release, but thanks to donations/recruiting we have dev's who think getting JB once we have ICS shouldnt be to difficult.

BTW@Hollywoods, the dev's device has been fixed.
