Root [MOD] Jelly Bean Voice Assistant / Google Now

Figured it out for anyone else having trouble. You need to be signed in to your web browser under your gmail account. In google now, go to settings, privacy and account, manage web history. Here, make sure your signed in and do a search for a sports team. Your sports card should now function.

just so everyone knows I started using swiftkey keyboard and you can use it for the voice command and then hit the search button. Not perfect but it works until the devs have it figured out.

Can anyone get the Google Now (velvet.apk) from the jellybean port?

Works pretty good for me now. I get weather, sports, places nearby ,appt reminders, no traffic yet(but I just enabled latitude), and flights(searched a random flight). Also the search cards appear and I can search my phone for just about anything (contacts, messages, alarms you get the point)

This is helpful too

I have this running pretty well on MeanRom using the velvet.apk from [App] Google Now for ICS Roms - xda-developers

Rename the original GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk in /system/app to anything for backup purposes
Rename Velvet.apk to GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk and copy into /system/app and set the permissions of the apk to rw- r-- r-- and reboot the phone.

I've been using the voice typing on SlideIT with pretty good success. Now it's just a matter of figuring out all the prompts the system recognizes. I was able to set alarms no problem, and now I just have to figure out how to cancel them without opening up the clock app!

Looks like they finally got voice working. They haven't uploaded it yet. It should be uploaded in the next day or two.

Voice is working now, I just downloaded the newest velvet.apk (velvet-theos0o-5.apk) and there is an app that the devs put on the market called voice search for google now. it even talks to you now.

Yeah. Wasn't the type of "voice is working now" announcement I was hoping for cause I downloaded that app 2 days ago lol
