Problem is a lot of folks here would have you believe that this phone has been the best kept secret ever due to the fact that no one's provided any solid info. Verizon CSR rep's seem to have no clue about the phone or play dumb, sales clerks in the stores have no clue or play dumb as well, occasionally you'll come across a regional sales rep who claims to know of a new HTC phone coming, but can't elaborate on it. HTC sends sales reps in to select Verizon stores for training on a new HTC device on an odd day, yet no one seems to be able to provide any further details. We have posters here who supposedly have "insiders" at Verizon, but yet we've received very little in the way of concrete information because of fear of being discovered and possibly losing their jobs, which I understand completely and don't have a problem with.

It just seems like there's been one roadblock after another in an attempt to nail down the specs of this device, let alone the release date. Yet I, like you, would think that if this phone was even somewhat remotely known in the VZW universe or was in Verizon's system, surely someone out there would spill the beans to the point it became public knowledge, as someone in a company as big as Verizon's is bound to slip at some point.

In summation, this is either the best kept secret the industry has ever seen or else it's been a wild goose chase on the road to nowhere and we're no better off regarding the real status of this phone than we were six months ago when all the hub-bub began. I guess we'll either know more tomorrow or we won't.

Does he mean something software related? Does he mean something price related? Does he mean something unrelated to the specs we already have?

1) Software: A new updated music player software to combat the iPhone?
Swype software?
New video capture capability?

2) Price related: A surprisingly low price?

The surprise is it's locked down to the ATT network and preloaded with their wonderful software. That and Bing is the default search engine.

I'm intrigued by this "surprise". Lets come up with some theories.

Cheaper then expected pricing, back cover available in multiple colors, Steve Job's gets strangled by his black turtleneck..

Oh! Didn't even think of it possibly being available online first and thus not requiring stores to have inventory yet or managers to know a damn thing about the phone.

HTC Ozone came out online exclusive for a couple weeks.....I'm thinking June 29 online, and July 17 in stores.....could be wrong. will edit if wrong

Edit: In stores July 13th.
