Cool thanks @billsmed! I just saw this too which I'm sure you already saw:

Sprint to announce 'groundbreaking new device' (HTC Supersonic?) tomorrow -- Engadget

Just kind of strange how that chat rep for Sprint spilled the beans like that

Scratch that...I just saw this:

Motorola i1 Makes Android Push-to-Talk on Sprint | These are the Droids

So I'm thinking it's just the Moto I1. Bummer

I wouldn't worry about the moto i1 being the ground breaking new device. See my #285 post.

Yeah, especially since the i1 runs Android 1.5; not exactly groundbreaking.

My .02: really hoping that the SS is announced today and released soon. My Motorola Droid is great, but Verizon is expensive. I pay around 90 bucks a month, and thats with a percentage discounted. This phone and Sprint's new Everything Data for 70 bucks is jst the combo to make me jump ship.

I just had a very vivid dream that the Supersonic was being shown to a group of people in a hotel conference room. It looked different than expected though. It had a wide padded grippy bezel and lots of hardware buttons, and it was really ergonomically shaped. It was pretty cool, but definitely not pocketable.

The wait is killing me!!! I just want to some news on this phone. My blackberry is great and all, but I would much rather have a supersonic in my pocket!

So let me get this straight. The Supersonic will be announced today or tomorrow?
Yesterday, when Sprint Premier customers logged into their accounts, they were presented with a notice that said "Visit us tomorrow for an exciting announcement about a ground breaking new device". Most people seem to think they will be announcing the Supersonic today.

Tomorrow, March 24th at noon EDT, Dan Hesse will be delivering his keynote address at the CTIA Wireless trade show in Las Vegas where he is expected to demo the Supersonic. A link to a webcast for his address is listed on the home page of this thread.

I'm just wondering if the SS will come with remote wipe and password implementation for Exchange. I can't currently use any Android phone because our IT folks require both of those ActiveSync protocols for any phone used with our company Exchange server.

This is a well known limitation of Android (see an extensive thread at Google: Issue 4475 - android - Support for ActiveSync provisioning protocol - Project Hosting on Google Code )

I hope the issue get's resolved so I can use an Android phone.

Welcome n11. Good question about the remote wipe. I'm sure that is being addressed. This probably doesn't help your situation much, but there is an app in the Android Market that lets you lock your phone from any hand held device or computer.

Edit: The name of the app I just mentioned is WaveSecure. Click the link to visit their website.

Thanks for the idea. Unfortunately, while there are workarounds using third party services and apps they won't help in our corporate environment. Our IT folks are very serious about security standards.

Damn I was hoping it was today. Thanks for the enfo though. Noon sounds like a reasonable time.

Maybe someone else more versed on the subject will help. I do know they're working on Exchange. Right now, what comes to mind is Black Berry as they support it and that's why they are so popular with businesses. I'm almost positive that the iPhone doesn't support Exchange either and that's why they haven't been popular with corporate. Since government and law enforcement agencies are so interested in the Supersonic, it wouldn't surprise me one bit to see them support Exchange. We should know a lot more by tomorrow afternoon.

Oh, you lucky Sprint people, knowing that your device is about to be released! As a Verizon customer I've literally been waiting over 18 months for a slate-form Android device with decent specs (that rules out the Droid and Eris, respectively).

If only Sprint worked up here in northern Georgia.

I'm a Premier customer and I didn't get that message.

Today is my day off from school so I'm watching Hulu and working on my essay to kill the time...but I'm still impatient, I keep checking Engadget. It's like a disease :D

Orion check out the Wimax Coverage thread

NYC will have 4G by the end of the year.

They had it up and took it down.

I saw it too yesterday afternoon and then I went to show my wife last night when I got home from work and it was gone. I am assuming they are still doing something today but decided that it you didn't see it already then you would hear about it from some other place.

That doesn't sound like a "ground breaking announcement" to me. I think we just have to be a little more patient.
