Long time lurker here with hopefully some clarity on today's events.

According to the CTIA Convention website the only Keynote Speakers for today are the Chairman of the CTIA Convention, the President of Samsung, CEO of AT&T, and the Chairman of Telef

I assume you mean why don't I have an iPhone. I hate Apple with a passion and would just as soon kill myself than use an Apple product. I also won't go to AT&T because they royally screwed me over years ago. Thieving bastards!

Sprint is a huge sponsor for Engadget. They've been sponsoring just about all of their big events like CES, the Engadget show, etc. etc. for a while now.

What if the reason VZW or HTC doesn't have any real announcement news scheduled at CTIA is because the could make an announcment someplace else?
Anything going on Incredible today outside of there?
 
So CTIA is going to kick off in about an hour and 15 minutes correct?
Staying positive for some good news today! Just hope I dont miss anything while I am out at lunch

I agree. We have 3 trusted people here that have inside info indicating good news for today, so we need to just squash any wild speculation that there won't be an announcement.

Like I said in an earlier post, I really thing the Verizon execs are smart enough to know that they will lose us to the N1, or even other carriers, should they hold out on us today.

I personally am on Sprint and love the service. The SS would be a big bonus for me. however, I am moving to Verizon if the Incredible comes out soon, because I do want better coverage. Spring doesn't work at my lake house (yep, in the woods), but Verizon does, with full data.

I'm already planning on a trip to the local VZ company store this afternoon, where I am sure they will have an Incredible on display. I am pretty sure the boxes are the display units. If they have them for sale, I am walking out with one in hand.
 
Has anyone tried calling a CSR at Verizon this morning to see if you can preorder the Incredible? I'd be curious to see if in fact the phone now shows up in their system along with a release date.
 
You know the VZW decision makers don't follow threads. You do know that they are most likely breifed by some flunkie who follows these things.

Dear VZW flunkie,
Tell your bosses to PLEASE get this over with. Either fish or cut bait! I'm need to get back to a productive life. If i know when this is coming out for sure, i know i can wait as long as i need to (not past April). Do you guys get your jollies by knowing you've captivated an audience on what's probably the largest thread in history? That's just SICK. Please give your customers a well deserved break! You know you're going to launch it, just do it already. We're sick of ATT, Sprint, TMO and others showing off their state of the art hand sets while we get to brag about how we have pretty good service. Good service is great, but not cool. WE WANT COOL!!! The Incredible is COOL!!!

We shouldn't let our bias cloud our judgment. It's very possible our trusted peers were lied to or gathered faulty information. We do trust them, but we don't know that their sources are correctly informed.

I'm hoping so, but I'm also a logical person.
