Skype just tweeted: Stay tuned for some big news from Skype and Verizon Wireless

I'm sure it has to do with the Skype,VZW parternship, but I wonder if they could announce the Incredible as the first handset with the skype app built in?

Yesterday's news was the HTC Desire released on T-Mobile in the UK for FREE when signing up for a 2yr commitment and a 35 pound/mo plan, roughly $52/mo for 1200 minutes, 200 text and unlimited data. Why are plans so expensive here?

This seems bass akward considering how things in the UK are always more expensive...

I don't get how this is big news, when the partnership has already been announced? Ya know? I would think there has to be something more

One can dream. I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve. When you *know* the presents are there and you have your suspicions of contents but you have to wait just a little bit longer to find out for sure.

Besides, this is Verizon's first go round with the Android operating system so it doesn't surprise me that there are delays.

Highly probable, but ultimately I don't think it matters who is responsible for the delay. My main point was the time between google's release of the software and the manufacturer/carrier release to users. I know that root would make this a moot point, but I know then I would have to wait for the dev's at XDA to work their magic. Can you tell I'm impatient??? :D

Today when I was walking back, I passed the VZW store. The manager was sitting at a table outside his store (because it is in a mall) and said, "It's going to be an Incredible week." I, of course, just nodded my head because I thought that this random man was talking about the weather, but then looked up and saw that he was the manager I talked to earlier! So...this guy either has a quick wit, or practiced that line all night.

Question: Do some direct (new vocab!) VZW stores have managers with that kind of inside info?
 
No word from our shy informants . . . it's getting a bit quiet in here as far as info goes for a release day. Unless it's the calm before the storm (not a pun. you couldn't pay me to use a storm) errr . . .should I say an incredible Storm.

I think it's safe to say with this post being so friggin HUGE, search is pretty much useless, let alone someone JUST coming in, having to search through 12,000 posts for any subject related to the MAIN subject. I for one am one to quickly say use the fing search button, but I think at this late in the game, someone can throw him a bone and explain. I am sure there are plenty here hanging out waiting for an announcement that wouldn't mind helping someone out?

I'd do it, but heading out the door, so instead I wrote the above :confused: :eek:

Maybe there's no news to post? My opinion is that there will be a lot of posting when we know something, which is that there either an announcement or none. :)
 
T-mobile, Sprint and AT&T have the nexus one, Verizon still does not.

I feel we will not be getting the Incredible or anything incredible for some time on Verizon, and if we do in the future, by that time, those three carriers will have something more incredible.

This is the way Verizon has always been.

So you guess are A) Missing out on opening notes CTIA. B) Flooding this forum like it is a chat room. C) Loosing your minds waiting for this phone. or D) All of the above

I'm going to make a prediction that when Verizon and Skype formally announce and discuss their partnership today they will simultaneously demonstrate how the service works on the Incredible, thus giving the phone it's formal introduction to the masses.
