That's really the only thing I wish was different. Never had a OLED phone and was looking forward to it. Guess they kept a lot of the same HD2 parts.

Yea I have a lot of mixed feelings at this point. Its an amazing piece of hardware for sure, but the TFT and release date im not too happy about. I guess at least now we have real pictures and video to keep up satisfied till summer :o

Seeing specs statinga 4.3"screen, then actually seeing it is a big diifference... at least for me. That thing is huge; I guess any concerns I had about no hard keyboard are out the window. The only thing that gets me is the possibility of a 4G "surcharge"; I mean, really?

For me it will come down to how Sprint will charge for WiMAX service. If WiMAX will be part of "Everything Data Plan", I'd definitely go for SS (and then just wait for WiMAX to be rolled out in NYC). If there is any additional charge for WiMAX, I will stick with N1.

The last paragraph of Engaget's article confirms my concern... I hope Sprint will make WiMAX as part of "Everything Data Plan".

I would like to very sincerely thank Ouhei for being the one to leak the additional specs which put this phone over the top.

BTW, in regard to the non oled screen, I'm personally happy about this because it means it will be more viewable in bright sunlight, which is important to me.

The discussion leading up to this announcement has been a lot of fun, and I'm glad we got what we all want (besides the quick release date and screen type for some).

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now that it's official...where exactly did you get your specs? Still secret? :p

btw looks like the forum needs a name change :D

I'm on it, I'll let the admins know.

Man, specs were on the money, that hotspot alone is cool. Man but no pun intended but isn't this phone incredible. :D

TS out

sprint has the link to it in their Premier page. There is a link link there was yesterday about checking back today. It has full specs listed. I am not good at getting that stuff on to something to share on here but someone may want to do that!

I have not compared them yet to what is already on here but will look for additional stuff, and they do have a deal to be alerted when its available! It also says summer though.

So im assuming this means tomorrow they will talk more about this thing? Is tomorrow expected to be the full unveiling and showcase?

Well now that I have to wait till summer, I guess I will at least be able to compare this thing to the new iphone when it leaks. Unless its completely revolutionary, Im going with the EVO. Screw Itunes

I was hoping it would be out in the next few weeks. My Hero is only a week old tomorrow and I was hoping to sell it and go buy the Evo.

I wouldn't get too worked up about the release date yet. Let's wait and see what we learn tomorrow. That thing about "summer" might have been something they said to dodge the press. They kept everything so secret and I bet they wanna leave something for tomorrow. Right?

Edit: Oh, and that part about TFT... that's what my Hero has and I like it. It's nice and bright and is pleasing to the eye and it's a lot better than AMOLED is outdoors too.

Im wondering if this is the phone that finally owns the iphone? Can Sprint attract enough new customers with 4g and a fair price on the phone to knock the iphone down a peg or two?

couple of things i noticed. Actually a little thicker than i thought it would be, certainly looks a little thicker than the HD2. However, I think this is due to the fact that it has a bigger battery which I am totally fine with. One worry, during the video on engadget it looked like the kickstand appeared to be really loose and opened up half way just by flipping over the phone. I hope that wont be the case with the production phones, I dont want the kickstand to move unless I move it. Other than that, Phone looks Sweet!!!! Hopefully we get some good news tomorrow concerning a release date.

That was just a reporter making a wild ass guess.
