Waiting on my Nexus... [GSM]

First post here... Not new to forums in general... I was wondering how accurate googles ship time estimate is. Or if it's an overestimate... I ordered my GNex as soon as it was put back up on the play store, but after the ship time was dropped back to 1-2 weeks... Just wondering how long it's taken everyone's phones to ship in real life lol. I ordered mine on the 8th (last weekend) and its now the 10th... Has anyone ordered last weekend and already gotten a shipment email ? All I've gotten was the email saying they've received my order. Basicly does google typically ship a little sooner than the estimated wait time ?

I ordered on 7/7 and just called earlier today regarding the shipment status, I was told they will start shipping in the middle of July as they are updating the phones to Jelly Bean. So it sounds like maybe by the end of next week we'll get ship notices.

I don't see why they'd go through the trouble themselves to update... Lol just send it to me google and I'll take the OTA update...

I said the same, it has to do with the Apple injunction. Phones already in possession get the OTA, phones in stock not sold yet are to have the OTA or modification made before the sale...

The google rep I talked to told me our phones were still in "preorder" status and would be released shortly... All vague answers... Weird that a 7 month old would be a preorder lol almost like we're purchasing Jellybean itself.

Technically you are. They can not sell Galaxy Nexus with ICS due to injunction.

just wanted to let you guys know that they changed it from 1-2 weeks to in stock and delivered in 3-5 business days.so that means they should start shipping today

Talked to google today... Asked if since the GNex is labeled as IN STOCK on the play store if my GNex that I ordered a week ago would be shipping soon... Was told that all preorders should be in our hands within 3-5 days... Yay! But still no shipping notification email...

for whatever reason google isnt updating shipping info but they did start shipping yesterday and mine came around 15 minutes ago

If ya don't mind me asking when did you order yours ?

july 10 and i live in pa. just in case anyone else has a problem downloading from google play when they get theirs.i couldnt but when i checked updates there was a 18mb patch there and after i did that google play worked fine.jelly bean didnt come up after i checked for updates after that but im not on wifi atm so will try to get that tomorrow.

I ordered mine as soon as the injunction was lifted too. Never got an update on the shipping. It arrived today by surprise.

Pretty sweet having a brand new toy. I don't even have my SIM card for it yet. (I was waiting for a shipping notice before plucking down money at Tmo.) This is a WiFi toy only for now. Seems so petite compared to my Galaxy S2.

I ordered mine on 7/7, when it showed 1 - 2 weeks to ship. I never received any email from Google, beyond the first email that said they had received the order. Wednesday, when I noticed the Play Store page changed to "in-stock", i called Google to see if I could get the status of my order, and could not get anything out of them, except that it should be shipping soon, and I would got an email when it shipped, with a tracking number. Well, no email, but i just received it by UPS!!!! Couldn't have been more surprised and happy, but Google really needs to revamp there ordering / shipping proceedures. They REALLY dropped the ball on these Nexus's. Now excuse me while I go lock myself in my room, and play with my new Nexus, untill the wee hours of the night.!

"lol after already having the phone for like 4 hours i get an email from google saying my order shipped."

Are you activating with the T-mobile $30 plan?

i been with tmobile.i just swapped the sim from my exhibit 2 4g to the nexus. if you want to sign up to the 30 dollar plan you can usual get the sim cards at tmobile.com for 99c shipped. you also might want to check out this thread [GUIDE] Smartphone Service for just $30/month - xda-developers

I just got my Nexus, and I received my T-mobile sim card earlier in the week. I am going to activate it on the $30 100 min 5g data plan. The phone hasn't been powered on yet. For the smoothest experience, should i put the sim card and battery in, then power it on for the first time, then go through the android setup, then try to activate on T-mobile, or should i get the phone all set up first, then pop the sim in, and activate on t-mobile. Please help, as I am getting anxious.

Thanks, but I don't think I can stand to read through 48 pages of posts to find out the best proceedure for setting up, and activating my phone. I am hoping someone reads this, who can steer me in the right direction.

i wouldnt be the best person to answer that.when i went on that plan back in november i was told they(walmart) had to activate it and i cant remeber which he did first. if i was you i would just call up tmobile and tell them you want to activate a phone on the $30 dollar plan and let them do it.they should let you know when you should put in the sim card . edit kinda forgot.you probably need to activate it at tmbile.com to get the $30 plan
