Hm so its 1.27cm thick versus my 3G which is 1.23cm thick. Guess thats not too bad. Still looks really "bricky" in that video for some reasons
The phone actually looks squashed in that video for some reason.

I think I could've gone without the embedded hotspot and the front facing camera and added RAM and ROM. I get that it was geared more towards the government and police force, EMTs, ect..... but what happened to the regular person that uses it for fun a little more than business.

I was looking at the render of the HTC Supersonic and wondered what the final version might look like...

In the picture below, the render of the HTC Bravo (left) when released morphed into the HTC Desire (right) or some would argue, the Nexus One. Either way, there was quite a change. Do you think the same thing is likely to happen with the Supersonic? I'm just trying to get some conversation going about this phone and I'm curious about your opinion and what you have to say about it.

This is what the HTC Supersonic might look like if it doesn't change from the rendered version.

Does anyone know if there will be some kind of podcast or live webcast of Dan Hesse's keynote address next Wednesday at CTIA?

Youtube link of what it looks like now

OMG!!!! ive been folowwing this thread for a while...did u guys notice, it is the same battery for the hero!!!! now we have extras(well assuming you bought an extra one). you can see this on engadget, on the pictures with the battery off

I would have two extras then!!! They gave me a free one because I wasnt lasting but a few hours before the firmware update. After the update I make it a lot longer but the extra battery is a big plus.

I just changed the home page "post#1" to reflect the changes. It has different pictures, the updated specs and a video link which I would like to change with a good YouTube video. I don't like the video above, because it has too much lag.

Its pretty obvious that this thing will have the hardware to last for years. Now if android can step their market up to the appstore level, I will be pleased for a while

It looks bricky because people are idiots and don't know how to properly convert video. This video needs to get rid of the letterbox or else the image will be squashed. Kind of like when lame cable/satellite companies take a video that was originally made for 4:3 but had letterbox embedded in the video then stretch it to 16:9 without removing the letterbox or going back to a higher res master. The end result is a squashed, blurry image that makes me have to manually zoom my TV screen to at least get rid of the distorted ratio.

/end rant

Haha yea got it. Thanks man :)

The phone looks awesome!!!! I love the red on it. And to think I was so close to getting the HD2. Thank goodness I'm a patient man and waited on word about this phone lol. This phone blows it out the water!!!!! The specs are insane. The phone is called EVO. I don't care if it was called the pink fluffy. I can't wait to get this phone.

WOW--I was too busy continuously changing my pants to get on here yet today. All I can say is: Thank you Sprint! Too many times have we been assuming that what we want would materialize in accordance with rumors, and without fail, we mostly have been let down. I was optimistic that today would be as great as I thought, but in the back of my mind, I was wondering if our hopes and dreams would fall by the wayside once again. Here's to that not happening.

And I look forward to seeing you all in line on release day. EVO-up mofo!!!!

In the pictures the screen looks fine to me. I'm going to be heading to T-Mobile tomorrow to check out an HD2 for comparison however a few months ago I was at a Sprint store and thought the Hero and Moment were comparable in terms of their displays. I didn't see a big enough difference that would be a deal breaker.

Here's a Sprint video of the EVO 4G

Dude, honestly this vid made me drool. :D

Looks like its not going to be red when its released. Engadget confirmed with HTC it will be silver
HTC EVO 4G vs. HD2 and Desire... fight! -- Engadget

It says just the earpiece grill will be silver...and if you go to sprint.com/evo you can see that the rest of the accents are still red

This phone is so cool! It's awesome.

It's cool and awesome.

Awesome.

Cool.

Awesome.

You know, those words just aren't good enough. I've got to invent a new word to express how good this phone is.

This phone is **********.

Yeah.

It's that good.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the grill will be silver but the backing will be red. In one of the hands-on videos the rep giving the demo talks about how the red accents under the kickstand and on the back make it look great, and it does! I really hope the release date or price is announced tomorrow. (Crosses Fingers)

Way to go Sprint. I am still keeping my three lines with Sprint(one line due to upgrade Jun 6th), but I am going to grab the HD2 tomorrow from T-mobile to use till the EVO becomes available.
