OK. So you know Verizon is better than the worst network in the US. Sort of proves my point though. What about the other 2 networks? Most people have never tried all 4 networks to really know if Verizon is truely that much better. Everyone pretty much just goes on what they are told. And guess who is telling them? Verizon is, that's who.

Actually, I know verizon is the best in my area because I know people with every carrier and everyone with verizon has no problems in houses and cars but people with sprint, at&t, and especially tmobile do.

I'm not a very trusting person by nature. There was a saying used during the Cold War, "trust but verify". I have also found was appears to be false information being provided as coming from an inside source in this thread but I've chosen to not out this information due to it possibly being a mistake.
Fair enough, I definitely haven't spent quality time living with each of the major carriers. But I will say this: no one complains about the Verizon network, plain and simple. I literally have never heard anyone say "Verizon coverage sucks" or something similar. I have, however, heard that xxxx times about ATT, TMo, and (to a lesser extent in my experience) Sprint.

Also Verizon consistently rates higher in independent testing. So while you may be partially right, I don't think anyone is arguing that Verizon has the best overall network.

Do you think the other carriers would let VZW get away with saying it if it weren't true?

Don't believe VZW? How about JD Powers...

This is weird: A huge Verzion announcement was supposed to happen in January around the same time the ipad was being announced. -- Nothing. The day that everyone is so sure the Incredible would be announced -- Nothing. I am dying to know what IS going on behind the scenes at Verizon!

You already said it.... Nothing

Sprint and Tmobile are fine if you stay in Major cities only. Get into the countryside at all and goodbye service.

I had Sprint for 10 years and never found a place anywhere in the country that didn't have great 3G coverage. Sprint (at least when I had them) would also roam on Verizon, so it was at least as good as Verizon. Since then I switch to AT&T which has practically no 3G coverage in my state and poor voice coverage. I can't wait to go to Verizon and get coverage again.
I wish that T-Mobile was more appealing. I like the idea of not having a contract. But they don't offer discounts on the "even more plus" plan while Verizon offers 20% for lots of businesses and university, making them the same price. For the same price I'll choose Verizon's excellent coverage over T-Mobiles non-existent 3G.

That said, if the Incredible doesn't show up on Verizon soon, I'd be tempted to stay on AT&T and get the Desire.

I don't like that Sprint forces you to buy an everything plan with their Android phones. That makes their plans twice as expensive as Verizon. No thanks. And they've pretty much said they're going to charge even more for 4G coverage on the EVO. And it might cost more than $199.

The date that everyone was throwing around 2 weeks ago was March 24th. Not march 23rd.

Have faith. Now.... if tomorrow comes and goes with nothing... then yeah. Go buy something. jk.

That's easy - nothing.

Sorry...I'm exaggerating a bit, but I'm extremely frustrated by today's events (or lack there of).

brett: http://androidforums.com/htc-incredible/42916-official-htc-incredible-thread-263.html
Zachery: It will be a while before you hear of a release date on that because we haven't received anything on it yet. I could ask but honestly they will not be able to tell you anything about it if they know anything either.
brett: alright well can you just humor me and ask them maybe by a longshot they might know something
Zachery: Ok. Hold on
brett: I think verizon employees from the top down had to sign a confidentiality sheet so they wouldnt spill the information to the public so they can release this phone during the CTIA
Zachery: I was just about to say the same thing, the manager doesn't know anything either .
brett: well here is the real deal at the htc booth at the convention in las vegas there were two windows they both said something along the lines of coming soon dont peek
brett: and they put the evo 4g in one after it was announced and a few hours later they put that same phone in the other to
Zachery: Did you see a new Htc with a physical keyboard also?
brett: so im thinking they were going to announce this verizon phone to put in that second one until sprint announced that and i think this phone will show up tomorrow at verizon
brett: no i havent seen anything like that

Sorry for the length here is how its going so far

Sorry if this has been brought up before. So obviously the ss is now the evo. Which likely means the incredible is not the... incredible and something else. Maybe that's why the vzw people... who ever they may be have no information on the incredible. Maybe if we called it, "an upcoming HTC android device". Or something like that we would get more responses.

If this idea has already been brought up. Kick me. But I just got in from teaching.... so yeah.

Agreed. Just to clarify, I wasn't arguing that Verizon doesn't have the best overall network. I think that is clear. My point was just how much better is it vs. how good is Verizon at telling us that their network is vastly superior than all the others.

Actually I have tried all 4 networks. Right now I have an iPhone on AT&T, a G1 on T-Mobile, my family uses Verizon and I tried it too, and I used to have Sprint for 10 years.
Sprint had excellent coverage. I never went anywhere in the nation without great 3G coverage.
Verizon is even better.
AT&T STINKS in my area. 3G coverage is miniscule compared to Sprint or Verizon. On the map my state is a huge white area. Even voice coverage is spotty, even in big cities.
T-Mobile is even worse than AT&T. Even when they say they have coverage they don't, not even in the corporate T-Mobile stores in two of the big area malls.
