Maybe GV will integrate video?
I read and saw video so much today that I can't remember where it was talked about, but someone said (I think it was Hesse himself) that the hardware was first created and that a developer will create the software to utilize the front facing camera. Most likely in the social networking camp.I hope there is an app dev that will take advantage of this AWSOME FFC!!
What does it matter if it's practical? If you don't feel like you need a phone with these things, buy one that doesn't have them.my concern is that they spend too much on hardware which can make it too expensive and becomes less popular.
for example:
1) HDMI is nice but is it practical? how often are we going to use it? especially regular and majority of consumers, excluding us geeko.
2) 8 megapixel camera and 720p video are awesome. but is it practical?
for family pictures, I rather use my dedicated canon camera or HD camcorder. No way the phone can replace dedicated camera/camcorder since the phone is too thin and its lense will suffer. you can't trick physic. lense is the most important component in photograhy.
all of these hardware will be costly with less practical use. it is the software that they should focus on more with features, usability, and apps.
Billsmed, I'm both exciting and practical here. the phone hardware is second to none on the current market. I know you don't like critical opinion of the phone. I don't mean that way. just want to express my concerns.
ooooooo that'd be sweet!^
either way, whatever way video calls can be done, i say we ALL hook up DAY 1, share our numbers and MASS VIDEO CALL EACHOTHER to thank sprint for such a beautiful gift
Welcome DCLocal and thanks for your comments. My guess the summer thing was just pushing the media away. I think Dan Hesse wants to make that announcement himself and I believe he's going to tell us it will be available next week or some time shortly after that. I don't have inside information like Ouhei did, but that's what I think.O M G pinch me, I think I'm dreaming. This is everything and more than I hoped for. I've been lurking for a while in anxious anticipation for some confirmation on the rumored specs. This is an awesome forum with great information; thank you to billsmed and Ouhei for great (accurate) information.
Now all we need is a release date and price... Sprint is saying summer but I'm thinking positive and hoping for an early surprise. I did notice that some of the press shots show the date on the phone as June 1. I wonder if that is a clue. Either way I'm up for renewal and READY!
I also put the specs on post #1 of this thread.yea i saw that on the OP but on the Sprint website when you click full specs:

'custom web browser with Flash support'
thats from boy genius report
so it's safe to say that this phone will indeed ship with adobe flash software on board?
when is the flash update coming for all android devices anyway?
just curious
What is it with only having 65k colors?
I've read there are certain phones, like the Hero, that won't get flash updates because they don't meet the minimum hardware specs. Someone should fact check that though.
