OS X unzips the files as soon as they are downloaded, but places the original zip file in the recycle bin, get it out of the recycle bin and place it in the memory card (assuming you know how to do that)
 
just put this update on my phone and everything is running smoothly!!


no problems at all so far

Thanks Snake and Blink! When I downloaded it, it tried to unzip it, but then said that it couldn't unzip this file...guess I got lucky haha. So now I just go through with the instructions in Matlock's tutorial on how to upgrade to 2.1? Same thing as the previous leak?
 
Yep, I did the original leak from my Mac and plan to on this one as long as all turns out well.

Awesome. Since it seems it is working great for everyone, I think I am going to take the plunge. I am still on 1.5 and am getting way too impatient to keep waiting for the OTA.
 
Those last 3 pages I just read was like a great book...and I hate reading...the suspense was killing me as everything unfolded. I'll check in later (for chapter 2) and see what develops.
 
Hmmmm tempting but with my luck root will be for the original leak not this one...

Exactly how I felt. I was expecting it to be fake and then all of a sudden....BOOM! It's real!!!! The joy I felt was just amazing.
 
Hmm, gonna hold off on this one. I'm not sure if I should put my faith in the root community to develop a great 2.1 ROM, or go with the official. Decisions, decisions...
 
Has anyone noticed a change in signal bars at all? Thats my main gripe with this leak. Also I know its only been out a little bit but is the 50% no signal bug fixed?

I have no bars at all right now on the old leak would be nice if that was fixed

for those of you a bit timid about installing this, take it from someone who was just like you (30 min. ago), and now, after installation, i couldn't be happier

its quick, its easy

A few users posted earlier that the signal seems better. Some mentioned it seems better even without doing the *228 thing.
 
Yeah done the *228 deal a few times and no change. Im right in town right now where I used to get 4 bars and get 2-3 tops. If this new leak fixed this id be a very happy boy.

Haven't done this leak yet (still on 1.5, but am going to do this tonight I think), so all I can say is the users who already have this mentioned improved signal strength.

Same here. Rural area, went from 1 bar to 2-3


Almost everything I use is faster. Checking email, using the dialer. Finally, I love my phone again. Cant wait to test out the GPS on my trip to Pittsburgh in the morning.
 
Looks like we need another tester on this one, Im off to flash the new(ish) copy right now...
Currently 2.1 leak no root :(
 
How the heck do I do this? I have a mac...could anyone help me? and using terms such as root or whatever mean nothing to me...i have no clue
 
Doing the update right now. Going smooth so far. Excited to see what 2.1 has to offer!

Edit: Just got done updating. That didn't take long at all! Very easy and smooth. Rebooting at the moment. New boot screens! Taking a long time to start up after the update, but I read that that is normal after just updating.
