Will definitely take it for what it is, but I'd say if he was a good salesperson he would realize that by buying a Droid, you're not in the target audience for the Devour - but rather something higher end.

I hope you're right. I'm still keeping the faith. I'm less concerned about an announcement at CTIA as others here. I'm just worried about my 30 day return policy :)

T minus 25 days and counting.

just to follow up - i asked my buddy who last night said it will def be shown today about a release date and he said there wasn't an official date as far as he knows. I'm guessing we should lean towards NKT's mid-april and not get too greedy and expect a release in next couple days.

Right now I'd settle for HTC or Verizon just showing the phone and acknowledging it exists and will be released soon.

The good thing is, if for some reason the Incredible doesn't hit in time, you still have a fantastic device.

Now the EVO looks like it'll be a great device. Were it commercially available, I'd consider it, but it's not. It's not a finished product. Now when it comes out, I'll look at it again, along with whatever else Verizon has on the market at that time.

Thank you for seeing this as well. I'm reminded of Palm/Sprint's big Fail last year, announcing the Pre 6 months ahead of the availability date. Sure, Palm was trying to save their company, but they basically opened their playbook months before the big game. We know how well that has worked for them. HTC isn't in danger of going under from this, but the next iPhone is going to be available as early or earlier than the EVO even shows up in stores. So, let the press discuss it for click-thrus, but this phone doesn't exist on the market yet, and won't for some time.

Just for comparison. Here are the announcements from CITA 2009

CTIA 2009

Lots of announcements all the way through the last day. So I think there is still a good chance for our announcement.

I hope this is not a indication.

AT&T released several phones
Sprint released several phones
Verizon just made announcements. But no phones, or I did not see any they released.

I've been waiting since last October, so there's no harm in waiting some more. Hopefully we're in the home stretch. If it wasn't for the GPS/maps and a couple of other apps, I'd likely just migrate to another non-smart phone. However, these HTC offerings intrigue me.

At this point i really don't care WHEN it's released anymore. I just want ANY official word that it's at least announced, that its real, and coming to Verizon!

Comon Verizon! Admit it exists!!!!!

Me being allowed to post here obviously refutes that statement

Your signature that is a quote from one of my favorite movies, Billy Madison, makes up for wherever your posts are lacking. ;)

Please take this for what it is, but I just bought a Motorola Droid on Thursday, and as I was walking out of the VZW store, the salesman that had been taking care of me pulled me aside and said "I'm not supposed to tell you this but don't forget we have a 30 day return policy. You might want to take advantage of that when our new phone comes out in 5 days."

He could've been talking about the new Motorola that runs on Android 1.6 (bleh), or any other phone, but his comments are the reason why I've been lurking in this forum for the last 2 days (never been here before yesterday).

I'm just praying this phone, or something similar comes out before my 30 days is up....

Perhaps he was reading our posts? ;)

What's the deal with Verizon lately, anyway? If you look at the Keynotes, ATT has a couple speakers, And T-Mob, Sprint, and even ClearWire have speakers.

Yet Verizon is nowhere. Oh yeah, they have Skype to talk about. Which I can get through most any web-based phone anyway. What are they doing?

I had a dream last night that the incredible was announced with the name "Nero" and was available for 99.99 with contract. I have no idea where that name came from and I hate it, but man that price would be awesome.
