They never promised to post something on friday. The rep simply said 'Check back tomorrow, fingers (and toes crossed!)'Well sure seemed like we had something going with LG...maybe an update. Wow what a disappointment! Too bad. Promise number two failed.
This is slightly off topic and I don't mean to derail... I am new to a lot of this however, I can't understand why some folks would want to revert to stock or holdout for ICS. BO or the BP rom seem just fine to me? Sure GB has it's share of bugs but ICS does too.
ICS has far too many awesome upgrades to GB that it would be silly not to. There are changes to how ICS handles battery life in standby mode, so the phone literally uses no power, compared to GB, which runs and runs. This is slightly off topic and I don't mean to derail... thats because LG Spectrum gingerbread is like xp pro its a great platform but its like at end of lifecyle and BO and BP roms like having sp3 installed ...it just makes gingerbread(xp) feel good ...ics is like vista its flashy and quicker almost at our finger tips ...but we know jellybean win7 is out but we may never get to experience its greatness.
some people just dont want to install updates...some do. i just cant wait for more service packs (roms) to come out

If you think BO and Plague have great battery life, just wait til you see a streamlined version of ICS for the Spectrum, those devs come up with. On my Droid 2, I used to get 6-8hours on a charge on GB, but on CM9 (ICS), I'd easily get 24+ hours on a charge. That alone has me salivating for the update.

Fair enough, I still am not sure why would want to lose a root with an OTA update to ICS though. Maybe I am missing something here but wont you lose root once you update to ICS?
i honestly wouldnt mind losing root for ics... im confident in our devs abilities to get it soon after the update anyway..
but ics unrooted will probably outdo anything we have for gb. correct me if im wrong someone. but i beleive ics handles dual core processors better. which means better overall performance and battery life.. if devs can get their hands on kernel source... and cm9 we will be competing with the gs3 and gnex..
It runs superbly, I've had CM9 on my gtab for about 6-7 months. It is going to be flawless on our specs.
i have tried and tried to get past this car mode issue i have frozen it and i still get the blink blink then it reboots. how are you guys gett past this issue???

root explore and search for the word car... Carhome.apk will show up... Delete it from the phone completely and you'll be good

I do this every time I flash a new ROM. While it keeps the car dock app from opening up. It still doesn't help with the icon popping up and closing whatever I was doing, or causing whatever browser I'm using to reload pages until I want to throw it against the wall. Doesn't matter what ROM i'm on. Tried them all cardock.apk pops up randomly. It will go days sometimes without an issue, but some others all I seem to do is reboot it. I've been meaning to call VZW and get a new one, but I only have the one phone. They want to be able to troubleshoot it with me.
Have you fixed this problem yet? If not I always use either titanium or ant tek to permanently remove it and have had no issues. Try using one of them and let me know if it works.
If nothing else, open up the room zip file, goto system/app and delete it from there, then install the Rom. Do not use the Windows for explorer to open the Rom, do not unzip the Rom.
Your best option is to use 7-zip to view the contents of the zip and remove the file from there.
I thought i would share this with you folks who do NOT know about voodoo OTA root keeper once this update is passed being rooted won't allow you to update in many cases this voodoo OTA can temporarily unroot your phone for OTA can pass its saves your su files and can put them back this app is on the market and i take no credits for it
