I was in Costa Rica for two weeks over xmas with no cell coverage whatsoever. I had a business emergency that needed big time fixing immediately.

And you what allowed me to fix it? A buddy's iphone with skype over wifi.

If ATT/Apple can do it, why can't VZW/HTC?

Yes, and AT&T gimps Skype over 3g. So there's really no difference...

I literally had a dream that the Incredible was in my hand today. Woke up with a smile on my face that quickly faded.....this is getting bad.

First, of all in regards to obi - **** off and die a slow, painful death.

There, now that's out of the way, I just got a call from my VZW buddy. He told me that the HTC rep is expected in his store within an hour and he recommeded that I come in as soon as I can and "act like a customer." He told me that's probably my best way to find out any info - to hang as close as I could to the conversation that he'd be having with the rep. So I'm off; not exactly sure when I'll report back - wish me luck!! :)

First, you've had three days to go back and get a picture of said box, but failed.

Second, calm down! It's just a joke and you don't need to get worked up about someone making a portal reference.

no kidding that was ridiculous. i thought i was one of the only people still using the xv6900. if it wasn't for the android roms i probably would have taken a hammer to this beast months ago. come on incredible!

Another xv6900 user here, but I had GPS from day one...thanks to XDA developers :p Did my research before the phone came out since it was already out on Sprint.

But played an all to familiar waiting game for that phone also

CITA: Verizon Nexus One Is The HTC Incredible

Verizon Nexus One

The jig is up as Android Central managed to get a snapshot of one of Verizon's online systems showing us the specs of the soon to be released Verizon Nexus One. And guess what, it utlizes HTC's sense UI.
Why is Verizon's Nexus One different than the original?

We're not sure really. The Verizon Nexus One, which will still only be available through Google's store (snapshot confirmed that as well), shows a different set of features. With Sense UI now available on the Verizon Nexus One, it can mean a few things:
  • Google is allowing carriers to select their own builds for their versions of the Nexus One.
  • The Verizon Nexus One is actually the HTC Incredible in red.
  • Or there was a major screw up and Verizon needs to better train their staff on Google's Nexus One options.
So now the Verizon Nexus One will not be all that different than the HTC Incredible if both are going to be utilizing the Sense UI.

Snapshot

CITA 2010

With both the Verizon Nexus One and HTC Incredible being no-shows at CITA, we got a feeling Clark Kent thought Superman was going to be there and vice versa. Well at least HTC Evo 4G showed up to the party and flexed its guns.

just got this on google alert

Look at your pic, study what is wrong, and slap yourself several times. This is something else we've already gone over. The URL for the Nexus is wrong. Its google.com/phone as in 1 phone, singular as in not many. This page has changed and now shows the N1 without Sense as well.

I was just coming to post this. Too slow, I guess. :(

ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....It's just a freaking cardboard box. I am more interested in what is on the INSIDE of the box than a plain old cardboard box. I'll go down the hall and take a picture of a cardboard box if it will satisfy your hard on for a picture of cardboard. I wish he would NOT have said anything out loud.......This isn't a Christmas present that is form fitted to the contents....it's a plain old box with marking on it. So suck it!

You need to fire your Google Alert.

And what demographic is that? The demographic that is unsatisfied with what Verizon has to offer? If that's the case...that demographic is growing larger by the minute.....

And that is something you can consider in 2-3 months when a suitable device is finally released on Sprint or AT&T. What exactly do any of the other carriers have right now that hasn't already led to a decision to leave Verizon if you aren't currently with them?

The only difference is Sprint officially made an announcement that they have a great device coming this Summer - even though it is still in testing and as of yet hasn't even passed through the FCC. Verizon hasn't made any announcements, although it is rumored they have a couple of great phones being tested right now, that are already through FCC approval. I will stand corrected if VZW does not in fact release the Incredible by the time the EVO hits. I believe Sprint feels the same way.

No kidding. Who doesn't enjoy a good Portal reference? Sure its been used on this thread before, but still good.

I still don't understand why people want a picture of a box, now if the box had been opened and he saw what was inside then I could understand wanting a picture of the box's contents.

First, you've had three days to go back and get a picture of said box, but failed.

Second, calm down! It's just a joke and you don't need to get worked up about someone making a portal reference.

First, you need to realize how much shit he's taken over this box all because he simply wanted to try to get us some information.

Second, he doesn't owe you or any of us ANYTHING. You think he can just go into that Verizon store, go in the back and start snapping pictures? Even if he could, it would just be a picture of a freaking box! They can't open it, and if the box looked tampered with or opened in any way, his friend would lose his job. Do YOU want to lose YOUR job right now? I know people who have been unemployed for over a year.

Third, back off. He's one of our good friends in here, he's an honest person, he's just trying to help, and we stand by our contributing, dedicated veteran members. The. End.
