Root Pre-Installed "News and Weather" App

Personally, I really liked the "News and Weather" app that came pre-installed on the MT. It was a pretty convenient app to get an update from the weather channel, browse news (if you're like me and never watch tv or read the papers), or catch up on sports and celebrity gossip. It also had a 4x1 widget you could plop on a home screen.

Bottom line, I backed up the .apk and re-installed it after flashing ROM.

Bottom line, I added the .apk file to one of my shared Dropbox folders. If you've missed the app on your rooted and ROM-flashed MT, PM me your email address saying something about "news and weather apk" and I'll give you access to the folder containing it.

The News & Weather widget that can be found in all CM7 ROMs. Just tap on a 4x1 empty space, go to widgets and select News & Weather.

I'm currently running MIUI, so that's why I didn't see it. Good to know it made it into the CM7 "keeper" list

Thank you for this, just installed MIUI 2.4.20, and this was missing from it.
