Alright guys, sorry haven't been posting...tough on a phone while trying to "penetrate" the veil of secrecy here...(not to mention i'm actually here with my gf to be social with our friends that live here not to spend 100% of my time chasing leads...although i've taken flak for doing just that)...
He's alive!

Not only the thumbs down but needs to say I hated your idiot post lol.
Not quite the same but hows this...

TS out

I briefly met a a guy who works at a Large Search Engine Company in Mountain View that begins with G. He was using his iPhone but a Nexus One was on his desk. Asked him about it: "They gave Nexus Ones to us at work but the reception at my house is poor so I've gone to the Dark Side."

I said I wanted an HTC Incredible. He asked why. I said "Because while I am sure the Nexus One is a great product, Google hasn't done the phone support thing before, and I want to stay with Verizon's service and support."

He sighed and said "Yep, we get that a lot. But I bet the Nexus One for Verizon will be available before the Incredible. And you have 30 days to return it."

I pressed for more information, but he declined to elaborate and then he got away after the meeting...

I'm not sure if he knows what he's talking about because it's 14 days with google (and the $45 fee is pretty hefty too).

WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!

Ok I paid $9.95 to sign up for GoGo Internet on this Delta Flight just to find out we still do not know anything yet.

I would of thought by now one of you would of hi-jacked a VZW store and taken the boxes hostage to get more info on our phone.

Now someone owes me $10.

I was on the phone with my doctor when I read this....

"seriously, your injury isn't a joke, why would you be laughing?" is the response I got after reading this in my head.

I'm calm, I just want some good solid news. Heck, I will even take bad news at this point.

Apology accepted about the mom thing, but the wife is in MENSA. Kind of scary that she married me

D

I took my wife's pos samsung glyde phone (5th one) down to verizon this moring and talked to the tech person. He said that its out of warranty and can't change it out and I'd have to upgrade if I want a new phone (aka one that works). I told him I didn't like anything currently out and asked if anything new was coming out. He said the iphone this summer and I should try to make this phone last until then. I informed him that I don't buy apple products and want something different and better. He said it will be awsome (errrrrr). I asked if he knew about a htc phone and he gave me the I don't know what you are talking about, but really do know and can't or won't tell you anything fumbling with words "I...ummm...well...um...I'm not sure, i guess." And then again said to wait for the iphone (what an asshat). So I dont really know what to do and how to take that. My wife wants/needs a new phone (and she likes the iphone...nooooo) and I'm not sure how long I can keep her happy with "just wait, you'll see...it will be better soon."

Alright, i've been absent for a few days (but here in spirit) so i'll add my 2 cents into what i've read the Mods say over the last few pages...

Behavior and commentary such as i've read (painstakingly on my phone) is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE on this thread. The rules are very simple..."No rules, just right" and the "just right" part implies:
  • -No personal attacks
  • -No insults
  • -No put downs
  • -No prolonged diatribes about how "this thread sucks"...say what's on your mind (if you absolutely have to) and leave...no reason to stick around and be a martyr if the thread is so intolerable. This also mean that the rest of us don't need to egg-on or prolong the conversation that person or reply...if bad enough, a simple PM to myself or a Mod will get the gears in motion to a "solution"
I'm coming back home tonight and will be a lot more active on this thread again. Any behavior like the one above will be handled very swiftly...NO NEED TO CALL MY BLUFF, I PROMISE YOU! I hope i've been clear and that i don't speak for myself only...it's all in the best interest of a continued positive place for us all to collaborate.

With that said, many thanks to all the contributors of this thread who keep the spirits up and the conversation going...it'll be worth it in the long run when we're all holding something "incredible" and 3.7 inches long in our hands. (<--- I gave that one up on a silver platter...run with it. <flame suit on>)

Having said that...

I met with a guy from a well known site (has "gadget" in the name...do with that what you will) as well as a few other guys from other big tech sites... They are all also suprised the Incredible wasn't "announced" (not released) at CTIA...apparently they were given sufficient reason to believe that was going to be the case. They have also been told by Verizon that "everything is on track" and that there hasn't been "any unplanned delay in the release". Not sure how to read that other than to pay close to attention to "release" vs. "announce"...so apparently the announcment didn't happen as planned (or hoped) but release is not impacted. I'm trying to find out more but i'm honestly at my whit's end with chasing informants and information...

I came to relax and vacation a bit and didn't get to do any of the above due to the drama releated to the Incredible... I head back later tonight and i'll see if i can find anything else out.

Please continue to be positive and contribute constructive commentary while we ALL work towards the same "Incredible" end goal here...
Nice, thanks for all your work. Sorry to hear about your vacation though....that sucks.

Good to hear that the release date on the Incredible isn't affected but when is that release date anyway haha??

I was involved with writing a web app that got launched off a stock shortcut on the LG Voyager. They made us drive like 4 hours to test the damn thing because they didn't want the phone leaving the room. After several trips, we were pretty annoyed.. and we never during the process knew anything about its release timeframe.

So I guess my point is, take what any 3rd party says with a grain of salt.

I getcha. I know. I just feel bad that all you guys are trying your DARNEDEST to get information, keep us all cheered up, and etc. here and all I do is F5 F5 F5! So I was trying to provide entertainment.

Went to the VW store last week and the guys there not only claimed to not know anything, they wanted to know where I got MY information. So I directed them to this thread, and they were all grouped around the monitor reading and reading...their little eyes wide with excitement and confusion...

I know I'm super late on this (had to catch up on about 40 pages), but I just wanna say thanks again to Montana!

Well, that $10 will last you for a month I believe, so fly more and reduce our refund to you ;)

If it takes someone that sells phones more than a couple days to learn the basics of a new phone...they're in the wrong business.

Verizon is very serious about training. They send their CSRs to 15 weeks of training before putting them on the floor. You've got to consider to that this sort of training happens in staging, not all at one time.

30 days for any carrier plan though, regardless of whatever phone you bring to the table. I do dislike 14 day return windows. not enough time to really get to know your device.
