Granted I don't own one, so I can't say for certain, but I believe the XBox is unable to connect to Ad Hoc (e.g. wireless peer to peer) networks, which is the only type of tethering provided by most Android apps.

Well, you can actually. I have done it with my (not in use) Huawei Ascend. I believe tethering is disabled by default within the kernel.

Ad hoc? Isn't that what the prevail uses with "wifi tether app"? Because that's how I did it with my old prevail for months until I got cable. On the warp I have no idea about it but I know ad hoc works for Xbox.

Ok, i can CONFIRM that the xbox360 can connect to our warp over wifi teather. I just did it to test for you. I am on shins beta 3 rom. I installed "wifi teather for root users" from the market. I did not use wep encription (user can test that function if they have to have a secure network), i left it an open unsecured network. It connected just fine and went to xbox live.

I have an xbox360 with the external usb wifi reciver btw.
Its not gonna be a fast connection most likely though guys.

Myth: CONFIRMED!

if this helped please thank my post.

This is not a myth, If you're rooted you can indeed connect your xbox to your warp via tether, with Tether for root users, or barnacle tether, I personally like barnacle better. but you won't be getting anywhere neard hd transfer speeds.....FYI

The myth that it could be done is what was confirmed. Take the time to read my whole post. I just explained how to do it. Please read, not skim if your gonna quote my posts please. Thank you.
Ummm, Ok buddy. I was in no way dis'ing your previous post OR trying to disprove your theory. And actually if you " read and not skimmed " my quote i was actually reinforcing what you had said. Not trying to disprove it. SO, I believe me and my skimming will move back to some other more important forums where everyone isn't so " sensitive"

Aha, I stand corrected. I knew the Wii could connect in this manner, but I thought I heard somewhere that the XBox couldn't.

It works best with the newer xbox's with the wireless adapter built in. But, even if you do get it to work, PLEEEASSSEEE. don't use it or attempt to for online gaming. It ruins my experience. I pay for fast internet to play online. Just a thought. lol

People with that poor of an internet connection never get picked as host but if they do by some weird glitch the game will pause and retrieve a new host from the members.

I tethered for about 6 months playing mw3. I was awful. Lol

But that was one thing I was going to ask is if he had the newer Xbox or older one. His answer was in his last post though.

I haven't heard of any success for ps3 but I do believe MAYBE you can bridge your connection with your laptop, ps3 and phone. Give it a try and let us know. I bet someone could find it informative.
